I like Babor's commitment to sustainability, such as using recycled paper and plastic for their product packaging. They also try to use "clean" ingredients, although this particular product had some ingredients that could potentially be irritating to sensitive skin. It does have phenoxyethanol, added fragrance, and mineral coloring (CI 77266, CI 77491). It would have been great if they went without the coloring as that is mostly just for aesthetic purposes. I personally could do without that greenish color if it means one less potential irritant for my skin. All that said, this is a good clay/cream cleanser. I like that it is in between - not exactly a clay mask, not your typical cream cleanser either - the best of both worlds! Like any clay based cleansers, it will take a little extra rubbing to wash it off, but definitely much easier than using an actual clay mask. You can also use this as a mask, although I hadn't tried doing that yet. It has a nice smell that reminds me of the skincare aisle in a health foods store. My face felt clean but not squeaky, dry, clean type of feeling. I still made sure to moisturize my face afterwards. It is a good cleanser, although the tube is smaller than I had expected. A very pleasing cleanser to use on your face. You get the benefits of a French clay mask without any of the bother of that drying, caking stuff you have to put up with when using an actual French clay mask. This cleanser is very creamy and gets deep down into the pores to give you a thorough cleansing. It's kind of thick, yet not as thick as a full out clay mask. It's also moister because you can feel the emollients that keep it soft while using. Though it has an oily texture, it does not leave you with any sort of oiliness on your face once done. It's easy to rinse away, though you will need to use a make-up removal pad or a washcloth to do so. Once it's all done, it leaves the face feeling very clean, soft and smooth.     • interesting product, good for skin congestion
this is an interesting product because it doubles as a mask and a cleanser. i already have a good quality clay mask i like so i’ve been using this as a cleanser and i really enjoy it. it’s perfect to use on days when my skin feels more congested than usual but it’s still too soon to use a scrub. it cleans out my pores and rinses off clean and it’s a product i kept returning to this summer because that’s when my pore congestion reaches peak. it’s helped keep the tiny pimples i get in the summer at bay and it’s not as harsh or drying as salicylic acid. ymmv tho since everyone has diff skin and needs, but if you suffer from the same problems every summer like i do, i recommend. i’d still do a spot test if you’re super sensitive but my slightly sensitive skin didn’t get irritated after use. i like their serums and was curious about this cleanser and it doesn’t disappoint. i have combination skin that leans more towards normal than oily and i felt like my skin type was compatible with this product. will get again next summer. ... show more

This arrives in a nice little box. Now, remove the tube and then unscrew the top. Here, you are going to find a sturdy silver seal. Remove that and then start your mask. You will notice that this is an opaque, celery green color: very cute! And there is a scent of clay with just a little something else ... something light and pretty. It's really very appealing. This applies with ease. And it does not drip or migrate as you wait for it to dry. Like all similar masks, this takes a small bit of effort to remove. Often times, I will use this type of mask just before I shower and then let the shower head remove it ... but I also noticed that my Clarisonic removes it with ease. I am a big fan Doctor Babor skin products as they are pretty high quality and I should say this cleanser is for sure one of their great products. It comes i9n a very chic packaging as I think it can be a nice gift to someone as well. The texture is very heavy creamy in light green shade. It's very easy to apply as it's not sticky or thick like clay masks but the texture is definitely thicker than normal face cleanser. You just need to apply it on your dry skin on your face and neck and then after massaging all over your face, you need to rinse it off with water. It makes my skin super silky and soft after each use and I feel how deeply it cleanse my face just like a face mask. ... show more

As a full disclosure, I adore BABOR. I hadn't tried this BABOR CLEANFORMANCE CLAY MULTI-CLEANSER, Prebiotic and Probiotic Face Mask and Cleanser, though. I do use their makeup and other products on a regular basis. This cleanser is extremely soft. It has a clay-like texture, and a gentle, spa-like scent (sort of herbal, not too strong). It is applied dry, and then rubbed into the skin with damp fingertips, after which you rinse it off. I happen to like this cleanser quite a bit. I have only used it as a cleanser, and not as a mask yet, but my skin feels soft and refreshed every time I've used it. I do feel like it's cleaning my pores out a bit more than regular cleansers do. I also adore the way it smells. It reminds me of a spa--definitely not floral at all, but extremely peaceful and relaxing. This is a clean product, and very committed to green standards of production--and to using natural ingredients. Highly recommended. ... show more

BABOR is one of my favorite brands I found on Amazon. I tried their other products and love them. Mild herbal scent. It has a clay-like texture. It doesn't dry out my skin, but it doesn't hydrate much either. What I like about it is how soft my skin feels afterwards. My face is dry and sensitive, yet this product doesn't cause any irritation. I think it should work both on oily and dry skin. If you want something more moisturizing, you may want try their other products. ... show more
