  • Fenvi's Workmanship Makes the Powerful Intel AC 9260 Even Better!!
This product contains the powerful Intel 9260 AC wireless standard card and a built in Bluetooth 5.0 module. This product contains an added heat sink resting atop the Intel 9260 card, held together by a good amount of thermal compound. This added bonus will help to keep the overall temperature of the card lower. The antenna are omni-directional, and can be twisted and pivoted in any direction of your choosing, preferably towards the direction of your AC standard wireless router or directed within the line of sight of your AC standard wireless router. It works flawlessly with both MIMO and the new standard MU-MIMO routers. The Bluetooth 5.0 worked flawlessly with a Microsoft Sculpt Bluetooth mouse. While connected via Bluetooth I experienced no stuttering, delays, or skipping of the mouse, it worked just as well as my wired mouse, when tested side by side. There was no loss of signal or degradation of signal quality when using Bluetooth and the wireless AC card. The card does come in the box with a half-height bracket and an additional screw, both great added bonuses. The card does fit inside the half-height bracket and worked in a mini-atx computer. I did my testing however on a full atx board using the full-height bracket that comes equipped on the card. There is no need to worry about extra cables or accessories, as the card comes bundled with a USB cable that attaches the card to your motherboard's USB header for Bluetooth. While the card itself is powered by the PCI-Express x1 slot. There is a faint green light on the rear of the card that indicates that it is turned on and receiving power. This light is more faint than the light found on the Fenvi FV-K1200AC and both cards have a similar overall design, with exception given to the actual wireless card used and the antennas used. The latter card contains the Bigfoot Networks Killer 1525 AC Wireless card and an Atheros Bluetooth 4.1 chipset. This card also has exceptional performance and based on your use-case, you may enjoy the antenna more on the Fenvi-K1200AC, Fenvi FV-K1200AC Bigfoot Network Doubleshot Wireless-AC 1200Mbps + BT PCI-E Desktop Network Card Desktop Wireless Card Gaming . This card will fit in all variations of the PCI-Express slot, it is designed to fit in a PCI-Express x1 slot, it will however also fit and work in x4 and x16 slots if your motherboard is short on x1 slots. The USB cable that attaches to your motherboard's USB header also has a generous length of 8 inches, allowing easy placement on your motherboard's top or bottom PCI-Express slots, leaving ample room to reach and connect the card to a USB header. For my testing purposes, I prefer to use a real-world environment, to match most users computer configuration, to provide results that most people will see when using this product. Your speeds will of course vary, as Internet connection speeds vary and router quality and technology varies. I tested this card using a Verizon FIOS Quantum gateway using the 5Ghz AC wireless connection on the router, this is one of the most popular wireless routers for both home and small business usage within the United States. I can confirm that the card will work on the AMD AM3+ platform of motherboards, as my computer used for testing the product is an AMD FX-9590 CPU on an AMD 990FX chipset. This product was also tested to successfully work on Intel Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge, and Skylake CPU's and associated Intel motherboard chipsets. I would like to update this review in the future once I test the product on AMD AM2+ and AMD AM3 platforms to confirm whether it works or not. The speed test results are as follows: With the antenna pointed slightly outwards in a "V" my tests confirmed a downlink speed of 99.42Mbps, uplink speed of 104.82 Mbps, and latency values of 20.4ms. With the antenna pointed more vertically and touching the rear of the computer case, my tests confirmed a downlink speed of 96.94 Mbps, uplink speed of 114.86 Mbps, and latency values of 23.2ms. These tests were performed 15 times each on a Verizon FIOS connection of 100/100Mbps (downlink/uplink), during off peak hours, 1200AM - 0100AM. During my Overwatch test, I confirmed latency values of 43ms, which is quite good on a wireless connection, considering speeds are similar at 38ms when directly connected to the router using an Ethernet cable. During this test there was no lag, spikes, or drops of performance based on the connection speed. This card held the connection just as well or possibly slightly better than the Fenvi FVK1200AC wireless card. In summary, this card has everything that the latest and greatest wireless card should have in 2018, at a very reasonable price, considering the Intel AC 9260 card by itself will cost you about $30, without the added convenience of the full-height and half-height adapter card, heatsink, and easy bluetooth 5.0 connector. The omni-directional antennas are also of superior quality and will offer durability, I felt no flex in them and the antenna cable leads appeared to be of adequately gauged wire. At $40, this card is truly a value. If you are looking to upgrade your existing wireless card to the new AC standard, look no further and purchase this card. Windows 10 Pro recognized the device and installed both the Intel AC9260 and Bluetooth 5.0 devices. I did however also download the drivers and software directly from Fenvi's website and installed it. Fenvi provides Intel Proset Drivers V20.60.00 for both the wireless card and the Bluetooth card. You will need a program like 7-Zip to open the files from Fenvi as they use a .RAR file format and not the more commonly used .ZIP format, native to Windows 10. I also could not get the Intel software to appear on my computer but I do prefer to use the built-in Windows configuration tools. I would recommend downloading the drivers directly from Intel, you will receive a .EXE application from them and it should successfully install the drivers and the software onto your computer, should you choose to install the software. Upon this mountain of positives, the only two negatives that I could find about the product was the full-height and half-height brackets came slightly bent and I had to bend them slightly for them to fit inside my computer, but this can be a common occurrence and really has no bearing on the performance of the card. The other negative that I found was the software/drivers provided by Fenvi, as they use a .RAR format, that will require you install another program to extract the archive. This is also nit-picking, as you can easily, and it may actually be preferable, to download the drivers directly from Intel. Depending on when you purchase this product, you may receive more up-to-date drivers directly from Intel, as they manufacturer the chipset powering this device. Overall this is a wonderful product and I have enjoyed testing it and attempting to put it through its paces. As a disclosure, I did receive this review unit in exchange for an honest, accurate, and thorough review of the product. ... show more

  • Top Notch PCIE Wifi Card
Like many, I'm always hesitant to order electronics from unknown names and, of course Amazon is flooded with them. I've had my fair share of hits but also my fair share of misses. This one is a hit. I have a refurbished HP Elitedesk 800 G1 as my primary computer, so I needed a Wifi card with one of the brackets for small form factor computers. Though I didn't see it in the review, I was pleased to see in the questions that this Wifi card did indeed come with a smaller bracket. I had previously ordered a Gigabit Wifi card but I will be returning it as the bracket was too tall for the small form factor slots on my particular computer. The Elitedesks are unique in that they have a hinged bracket that closes down on the rear slots eliminating the need for the fastening screws. Fenvi manufactured their bracket to the exact height necessary. Installation was a breeze. In fact, I didn't even need the disc for the Wifi, just the Bluetooth. I plugged in the card, and my PC actually went black for a moment which admittedly worried me, but it went back to normal in a mere moment and boom, I had internet. The pinned cable for the Bluetooth was a little tough to finagle into the card once in the computer, but that's not Fenvi's fault. I had to install the Bluetooth drivers using the disc, they didn't just load automatically. I had a Broadcom Bluetooth driver on my computer for some reason, and it interfered with the Intel drivers that the disc loaded. No big deal though, I just disabled the Broadcom driver in the Device Manager and all was well. Just keep this in mind if you have any existing Wifi or Bluetooth drivers; it may cause an error in the device manager and the newly installed card may not operate properly. I won't post any speed tests since I won't be taxing this card to the fullest of its abilities, but man my internet flies. There is no webpage I can bring up that slows this card down. I'm sure the addition of the heat sink helps; even if the effect is minor there's something comforting about it being there, just seems like some forward thought on behalf of the maker in case it does ever get hot. I have my router in the same room as the computer so for me there was no need for the external antenna, but I'll be keeping it around if I ever need it. This card may be a little price than alternatives, but I have no reason to believe it's not worth the price paid. I like this better than the USB wifi adapters since I can keep everything internal in the computer without an antenna sticking out to accidentally strike. That, and considering this unit also gives me Bluetooth 5.0 capabilities, the asking price of about two pictures of Andrew Jackson seems well worth it. Don't let the unknown name scare you off in this instance, this Wifi/Bluetooth card by Fenvi is a solid performer, and the red looks pretty cool too. ... show more

  • Perfect replacement for my Dell XPS 8700's outdated Intel AC 7260 half-height-mini Wifi + Bluetooth card!
After being referred to this particular card by a local computer shop, I bought two of these Fenvi Dual Band Wireless-AC Intel-9260-chipset-based WiFi/Bluetooth cards to replace my outdated but upgraded Intel AC Wireless AC 7260 (with Bluetooth) mini card in my Dell XPS 8700 computer . It works PERFECTLY using Intel's native drivers - no additional software or others drivers needed! All I had to do install Fenvi's newer wireless AC 9260 PCIE slot card in my and my wife's computers was (in order): 1.Ensure Intel's WiFi and Bluetooth drivers were updated on my computer to the latest versions via Intel's Driver Support Wizard. 2. Via Windows 10's Device Manager, uninstall the older Intel AC Wireless AC 7260 card. 3. Shut down the computer and unplug its power cable. 4. Remove the old Intel AC Wireless AC 7260 (with Bluetooth) mini card from the computer's half-height mini slot 5. Turn on the computer 6. After rebooting, I had to reconnect to my preferred SSID and re-enter the SSID's password. After the above steps were performed, the frequent WiFi disconnects associated with our previous Intel Wireless AC 7260 card (which Intel has more or less abandoned) seem to be gone, our computers's WiFi signal strengths are much better, our WiFi speed is significantly better, Bluetooth worked as it did before with NO additional steps required, and, going forward, we can benefit from Intel Driver and Support Assistant's automated WiFi and bluetooth updates! I am extremely happy with Fenvi's Wireless-AC 9260 card and highly recommend it to Dell XPS 8700 owners and any other desktop computer owner who is considering replacing their outdated half-height mini combination WiFi and Bluetooth mini card with a standard PCIE-based card! ... show more
