If the water level is higher than the nozzles water will continue to trickle out until it's not. They didn't create a value to prevent this, so unless your plants are at least 2 feet off the ground it's going to be a problem. I was able to purchase and install a flapper valve that keeps adequate resistance during low pressure. Get a bubbler or water jet to keep your water in motion. Even with that, don't keep more than 1-2 days worth of water in here or (with or without circulation) it's going to start to smell bad. The oversight of continuous flow without the pump being on just seems like something they should've considered. ... show more

This is a good system if you plan to use it manually. The timing system is ridiculous and doesn't make sense at all. Everything is labeled in code that doesn't make sense and the instructions are terrible. I'd rather put a campfire out with my face then to spend one more second trying to get this timer to work. I would encourage whoever designed and labeled this timer, to chase Kyle Rittenhouse with a skateboard. ... show more

This past season my family grew more of our own vegetables and herbs than ever before. We're still learning, but the thing that we definitely are not good enough about yet is watering. With no spigot within about 60' of the grow area, it's a little irritating to drag the irrigation rig out there every morning. That's where the YIFOR Automatic Drip Irrigation System Kit comes in. When you unpack the kit, the first thing that's apparent is that you don't feel like you have $130 (with $10 off coupon, at the time of this review) worth of stuff. Sure enough, you can source the components for less. The thing to consider is how much you value buying a pre-engineered bundle, as opposed to making the thing yourself. Assembly takes about 5 minutes, while setup of the drip lines will be highly variable to your setup. Timer setup is a bit of a pain, considering we're in an age of bluetooth-compatible devices featuring apps that take advantage of smartphone screens and interface controls, but it's a set-and-forget affair. As I mentioned before, this kit is not exactly about value. If you're a DIY'er, or you want to eventually expand your irrigation system, this may not be a good choice for you. On the other hand, if you want to be able to buy one kit and have a reasonable expectation that you have everything you need, this may be a good buy for you. Conditionally Recommended ... show more

    • Not the most intuitive system, but it works well
We have a couple of solar irrigation systems for our patio and deck plants, but they were maxed out and we still had to hand water a dozen or more plants every day. So I thought we would try this electric one on a part of the deck that has an AC receptacle. This kit has everything you need to water a dozen plants, or more, if you want to add a couple of connectors and other emitters, which is what we did. The timer was a royal pain to set up, but once we got it programmed, it did fine. The 5 gallon reservoir is not nearly enough to water 12 large patio pots as frequently as they need it during the heat of summer, so we switched it out for a 15 gallon barrel, which is more attractive anyway. After tweaking the interval and duration a couple of times, we were able to go days without worrying about our plants, only checking the water level in the barrel periodically. ... show more

My husband loves this and it helps him water his plants. It is a great thing to have, however, it does take a while to figure out how to install and use it correctly. It saves time and is well worth the money.

Interesting concept. I have another one I built with a bigger container that is similar. Having the kit all together makes it easy to make and the assembly wasn’t terribly difficult. Compared to the cost of my homemade system, this is a bit cheaper and it has everything you need ready to go. A water meter to be able to see the water level or a window on the bucket would definitely help. Overall I would recommend this all in one drop irrigation system, especially if you are trying to conserve or live off grid. ... show more
