Great, basic indoor tanning lotion.
THIS IS A CLASSIC! . I’ve used it for years. It was relatively affordable as poor college student. Happy I can still get it, and the price is still reasonable. I can’t find it in my salon, so I order from amazon these days. It has such a recognizable scent that’s not bothersome to me.

I am pale skin and do not tan very much, but I noticed a big difference with this lotion over others I have tried.

Love the smell of this!! This product has been my go to for over 10 years! I live in New England, so getting a dark tan is iffy, unless your skin pigmentation is naturally dark. I love that this works with your pigmentation to give you the best start to your tan! It’s great to use whenever you’re out
in the sun. YOU MUST REAPPLY FREQUENTLY DUE TO NO SUNSCREEN! I would not recommend to people who easily burn, but if reapply this frequently your tan will look beautiful, natural, and smell incredible!

I have use this product for over a decade and would recommend it to anyone who would like a sunkist skin. In indirect light it still has the ability to get you dark. The smell reminds me of the beach, sand and surf. Highly recommend.

I have been a suntanning "addict", "pro" or "goer" for over 40 years.....from a home tanning bulb that looked like the old bulbs that kept french fries warm at fast food places to, when you went in a booth that was covered with metallic material and FOUR bulbs...then came the tanning beds that did no
t have a canopy but only the bed where you had to flip over to tan both sides....Yes, younger folks we had these contraptions 40+ plus years ago. Not to mention outdoor tanning where you would lie on a metallic "blanket" called Even Up to tan your sides and have a metallic item held under your chin to tan your neck....So as you can deduce, I have done it all. George Hamilton does not have as much UV as I. The Accelerators came in the very early 1980s and were full of Tyrosine (amino acid, look it up). Honestly, I feel the accelerators are nice moisturizers and typically smell nice, but as far as forcing the skin to tan only one containing a "psoralen" (look this up as well, can be dangerous) would create a situation where the melanocytes are stimulated to tan the skin. All of this about " medium lever beds" and " super beds"....it is really about he amount of UVA and UVB that is concentrated. You need a small amount of UVB to stimulate the tanning process and the UVA typically "bronzes" this stimulated melanin. This lotion I have used for a while, even when they offered an outdoor spray that was a very similar aroma and had a small amount of sun filter (sunscreen). It does a nice job of moisturizing. I am not sure it accelerates the process. Ashy skin is much like a glass (or glass soft drink bottle) that has become hazed...if you add oil to that surface the haze tends to go away. So if your skin is dry and you add moisture, you will look more suntanned. Believe me, I have done it all, tried everything imaginable...if you want more info reach me at Sakowitz50@gmail.com PS, "tingle lotions" do nothing but make you irritated and red. The do NOT do anything more...I promise you on this.

First off, I am a naturally pale person. I went in a lower-level bed at the tanning salon for 8 minutes the first session using this lotion. That time, I got hives. My skin is very sensitive and the light reacted with the lotion in a bad way. I wasn't discouraged because this has happened to me with
other lotions. When I went home, I remembered what I used to do when I tanned a long time ago... I used to apply lotion at home and then drive to the tanning salon and tan. That way, it gave my skin time to absorb the lotion and get used to it I guess. Second session: I applied the lotion AT HOME, drove ten minutes to the salon, and tanned. Success! No hives at all. I was in the bed for 8 minutes again. So far, I have tan lines where my swimsuit bottom was covering me. For only 2 sessions in a low-level tanning bed, that is amazing progress. I will update after more sessions to tell how things are going. Note: For people with sensitive skin, try that tip I mentioned. It might save you from having to shell out 30+ dollars on hypoallergenic lotions. --------------UPDATE----------------- I've been tanning for 4 weeks so far, about every other day. My skin has gotten used to the lotion, as I can apply it at the salon right before I get in the bed. I don't have to apply it at home anymore. The lotion is producing great results. I love the fact that there isn't any bronzer in this lotion because I KNOW for a fact that my skin is getting tan. For my aftertan lotion, I alternate between Save A Tan Bottle . and Hempz Herbal Moisturizer, 17-Fluid Ounce (500 ml) (Package may vary) . The lotion from Key West Aloe works best on accidental burns though, which was happening when I first started tanning (my fault completely!). But it really took care of the burn. I like the Hempz lotion mainly because the smell is so gooood. It's thick, but a bit sticky.

Not what I was hoping for
This lotion isn't terrible; I mean, it's way cheaper than what you'd buy in the tanning salon, and way less... Fussy? I don't know, I feel like less of an idiot pulling a bottle like this out of my purse than I would the Snooki and J-Wow Ed Hardy style products my tanning salon pushes. It also smells
better than a lot of the stuff out there, sort of like an orange creamsicle, and slightly less sugary than other lotions I've tried. That said, I don't think this stuff really did that much. First the smell, while not terrible, after tanning I still feel like I smell sort of like burnt sugar. It's the same problem I've had with other lotions; I think it's the way my body and the tanning bed react to the chemicals, but I'm just not a huge fan of the stink. I have to go straight home and shower afterward. As far as the function of the product, I'll admit, this is the first tan accelerator lotion I've used; the others have just been like indoor tanning protection lotions. I'm also not a regular tanner; I only tan before vacations to get a base layer of color, so maybe one week, twice a year is as often as I'll go. But using the same bed, in the same salon, for the same amount of time, around the same time of year as I did last year (so I started the same type of pale), I burned pretty badly with this stuff on. I'm not talking about a little pink that fades in an hour or two; that happens to me pretty much every time for a day or 2. I mean bad enough that I'm pretty uncomfortable still the next day, and will need to skip a day of tanning so I don't fry myself. I don't know if my skin is just not made for tanning accelerators or what, but I'll be switching back to my regular, though stinkier, lotion tomorrow when I go back. And to top it off, on the areas that haven't burned, I haven't noticed any kind of difference in the type of color I'm getting from the tanning bed. In fact, I almost feel like I'm getting less tan, although that could just be because my back and my legs, where I usually show the color best, are currently crispy pink. Maybe this is an issue of you get what you pay for, I don't know. Maybe it's just that I, personally, have no business using tan accelerators. I'm actually willing to bet that it's just that my skin doesn't react well to it, because it does have a lot of positive reviews. But unfortunately, I won't be buying it again. Editing to add: When I switched back to my old lotion, I immediately noticed I tanned darker (even though my old lotion is not an accelerator) without burning. Definitely sticking to what I know from now on.

I wish they had an extra moisturizing tanning lotion the exact same kind - other than that, we ordered a second bottle and the quality of the tan had us ready for Jamaica!
