After waiting six months for a different product, I decided to buy this Ausdom AF640 webcam. I plugged it into a USB port on my Windows 10 computer and it worked immediately, showing an excellent image in the Windows 'camera' app. As other reviewers have noted, its image is more of a wide-angle view than similar webcams, but not unacceptably so; I saw no noticeable optical distortion like the 'fisheye' effect seen on some webcams. Its color reproduction of my face was natural, which is why I gave five stars for "warmth". Next, I tried the Ausdom webcam live on Zoom. Surprise! Zoom automatically clipped a little of its wider view, so the online result showed more of my face and less of my surroundings. I got fewer HD pixels than I was sending to Zoom, but the result was visually what I wanted. And Ausdom's microphone got my voice just fine on Zoom's record-playback audio test. This webcam's mechanical mounting is nicer than many, with a ball joint that allows left-right adjustment as well as up and down. It even comes with an adhesive-mountable privacy shutter that was designed for it; I attached it in a moment and I'm going to keep it on. Nice job, Ausdom! I recommend this bird-in-the-hand product if you're still waiting for some other bird that's stuck in the bush. The only thing this webcam lacks is the extra software that comes with some other webcams, which you don't need for Zoom.     • Best addition to my zoom meeting
I have been working from home since last year. Video meetings are hard to maintain good video quality given the laptop camera is just 0.9 MP results in bad video, I was looking for ans HD quality camera to add to my home office. This is a great addition to my work desk, this gives a super clean video and had good auto focus(note, you may have to adjust it first time you set up your camera). I use it with zoom which further improves my image quality in the meetings. Note: -This is not wireless, so make sure to have USB port free on your laptop to use it -This is plug and play, no drivers needed to be downloaded -Has integrated bright ring light (very useful, touch on-off) -Comes with small (6 inch) tripod stand. does not have a clip to attach to monitor top but it holds well on the top of the monitor coz Z shape base Overall great experience so far. I haven't had chance to test noise canceling mic feature yet, I may update about it later ... show more

This was a nice upgrade over using my old laptops built in camera. The picture is definatley clearer and better quality. High def? I dont know, I cant tell from my screen, I guess I should ask someone on the other end. The little tripod is cool, but I prefer the angle of looking directly at the camera positioned atop the laptop screen so I have the screen also in my view. I dont like the base of the camera and how it basically uses balance and friction to stay on top of the laptop screen edge. I think a clamp would be more sturdy. Ive accidentally bumped my PC and knocked the camera off or off angle because of that design. ... show more

Webcams from better-known manufacturers are currently available only from sellers who engage in price gouging during this COVID-19 season, so I decided to take a chance on this AUSDOM AF640. I am definitely pleased. It provides excellent video quality and update rate. The integrated microphone is acceptable although better sound quality is obtained via a dedicated microphone such as the Blue Yeti Nano. The AUSDOM is hot-swappable, so I can move it from one Mac computer to another Mac computer and it is instantly recognized without the need to restart the Mac to achieve recognition (my older webcam was not hot-swappable in this manner). My old Logitech C270 finally gave out after, I guess, heavy usage during the pandemic? Ah, it was just old. I didn't need anything fancy, so I was looking for something in a similar price range and I wanted to go Logitech, but I also heard good things about AUSDOM. Maybe mine's defective or my expectations were too high, but it seems to be either low quality or have trouble focusing. Google meets in chrome or firefox. Zoom. Microsoft teams. It just lacks a sharpness to the image quality. It totally suffices since I'm just using it for work meetings, but otherwise not really impressed. ... show more

    • Great camera for a great price!
As of posting this review I’ve been using this for about a week now and it’s been great! It does stream and record in 1080p 60fps without having a 3.0 usb so don’t worry about that. I’ve been using it for making videos and Zoom meetings, it’s been wonderful! The light that’s on it is great as well.
