The texture of the handle is not one I’ve seen before, but was easy to grip and wield; it’s not ergonomical so much as aesthetic, but it’s still not uncomfortable to hold and use. This knife is good for basic box cutting or maybe an emergency, but it is not hardened steel. The tip of my knife broke after a few uses (granted I use my knife daily, and for other jobs beside simple cutting) and if put under stress, the blade bends pretty easily. I've had cold steel Benchmade and other high dollar brands and this is by far the sharpest knife I've ever bought. Also it really is Damascus and not just painted to look like it is. I will definitely be buying other knifes by this company.
