  • Amazing product for the money.
Color: 160 3-6x Pattern Name: ATN Thor LT
Works better than advertised! Battery lasts longer than I can hunt! Easy to use, quick charging. Don’t have mine mounted to anything, I use it to spot deer on the way in and out to my stand. It has kept me from walking in on deer a dozen times! Twice, it took me right to deer I shot right at sunset and got dark before I could get down and my stuff together. Sweet! Then the temp is in the twenties or below, body heat shows up in first two or three inches in bucks antlers allowing you to know sex. Going two my stand one cold morning, I spotted a buck a 100yds in front of me. I back up to a tree, watched it with this scope for 20 min. at daylight, I picked it up in my rifle scope and could see it was a shooter, was a 10 point with a 18” spread! ... show more

  • Love this unit
Got this as an early Xmas present. I am quite familiar with ATN having used various generations of their optics for 20 years. Most recently the 4K pro. I went for the LT Thor version as having learned from the 4K pro, I rarely used the majority of the features. The scope is simple and easy to use. Zero was also easy(ish) First lesson learned was, I was familiar with military thermal and night vision optics, so I didn’t think too much about this as an issue. This was a funny learning curve when going to an indoor range, trying to zero on a paper target, I couldn’t see it, it wasn’t hot!! The paper was the same temp as the ambient air. So I aimed at a steel tgt, hit it, that created my hot spot and zeroed off of that. Then it was a tack driver at 100. The thermal resolution was well worth the money. People ask about range, that will be a difference betweenness the 4K and Lt. The reticle is fixed. So whatever you zero for, that’s it or use Kentucky windage(elevation) second learning item was the description. It says 4-8x. That means 4x OR 8x, not stepped up in magnification. Lastly, range of identity. That will depend on range, heat spots on the target and tgt size. So a typical deer would be easily recognizable at up to 300-400 yds, then think reticle as noted above. That said, I was able to easily make out aircraft flying 6 miles away (scope unmounted), when I could only see collision lights visually. It is perfect for up to 200 yards hunting. Long story short, I am really glad I bought it. ... show more

  • Quality Thermal Optic at an Entry-Level Price
ATN looks to have finally fielded an affordable thermal optic, something out of reach for other companies for many years. For those seeking a "streamlined" user experience compared to the THoR 4 series of optics, this is the perfect option. Although ATN pitches this as a scope lacking many of the features of those more expensive optics, for many users these are completely unneccessary and cost-adding complications. If you are looking for an easy-to-use out of the box experience, I would recommend this optic to you. There are a couple of things to note when considering an optic like this: 1) The zoom feature (either 3-6x or 4-8x) is a digital zoom that is not continuous. Although represented as a range, the scope operates either in the lower or the higher magnification, none of the range in between these values as with a traditional optical zoom. 2) There is no integrated range adjustment in this optic. Obviously this scope lacks MOA/MRAD adjustment, but also has no means of digitally adjusting POI for range, as with some of the more expensive ATN optics. However, one of the reticle options does have fixed holdover stadia. A shooter with enough experience using a particular load at distance could make effective use of this. 3) A very minor point, but when powering the optic on there is an initial "bloom" of light in the screen as the sensor adjusts. This produces a circle of visible light on the user's face or chest projected from the eyepiece that is bright enough to be seen downrange at night. Similarly, it is bright enough to cause the user's eyes to adjust even on the lower brightness settings of the scope. This can be easily countered by covering the eyepiece with a hand for 10-15 seconds when powering on. ... show more

  • Buyer Beware
If the scope performed flawless the low cost would make it a 5 star. Here is what you need to know before you buy: The reticle will not be centered on the lower power. Once sighted in (mine is 4-8 power) the reticle will be in the center of the screen on 8 power. Shift to 4 power and the reticle is almost at the bottom of the screen. That aspect sucks. An experience that many LT owners complain about - there is no warning in the user guide that the scope does this so initially you may think there is a problem with the scope - this is normal but still sucks. The clarity of the image in the screen is not great. The thermal will pick up animals at a far distance but confirmation of species will have to be a a much closer distance. This is really a short range thermal. Battery life is as advertise and last a long time. Buttons and functions are basic and easy to grasp. Users Guide is a little cheesy and lacks detailed information. The screen may frequently blank out or have black and white lines once the shot goes off. It will even do it with a dry fire. The only way to correct the freezing screen is to power off and on. If you need a follow up shot you may be out of luck. Customer service is very weak. The first time I called I hung up after being on hold over 30 minutes. Never did reach a human being. I did do a reset and thought the freezing screen issue would go away. Unfortunately the problem continues. Unlike many of ATN’s other products there is no firmware updates to be found on their website. I have emailed ATN customer service to try and get some help. So far no response. Having this scope for several months I can confirm it does work within reason. The one shot zero is not entirely accurate. More than likely you will shoot a few times. Considering the issues I have experienced with the scope and customer service I would not purchase again. The freezing screen has me second guessing every time I hunt with it. I do not trust the reliability of the scope. Save up and invest in a better product with better support. Additional Review 4/23/21 Overall disappointed with ATN. Entered the thermal world on the cheap with a 4x8 LT. I knew it was limited but simplicity and cost made it attractive as an entry to this technology. I knew ATN had some poor reviews but took the chance anyway. It is not the brand I wanted but for a first try into this technology it was affordable. Before a year had past I experienced frequent screen freezing. I sent it back for repairs. That process was semi smooth but took a while to get the scope back and explanation of what was repaired was never provided. However, it did get back and seemed to work fine. We sighted it in and used it for a hunt. After a few missed shots we did not trust the optic. We did not have much trust in the scope before sending it due to the freezing. Not even a full year of ownership. I opted to return to ATN and use it as credit toward a thermal monocular. I got less credit than what I paid for the scope and paid some additional to get the monocular I wanted. This was around 3/5/21. After a couple of weeks I started getting emails that the item I ordered is out of stock due to overwhelming demand but should ship in 5-10 business days. Almost two months later and nothing. It is not a demand issue, it is a supply issue. I wish I knew this on the front end, I would ask for a full refund on all my purchases. I have read enough poor reviews to see a pattern with ATN. Call it buyers remorse or whatever but I wish I had gone another way. Calling the CS number is an eternal hold. If you have to reach out on social media to get a response from a company something is wrong with your CS. If your CS is overwhelmed something is wrong with your product. I read many have had a favorable experience with ATN and I am glad for them. Also too manyhave had unfavorable experiences. As for me a definite “would not recommend” solely based off the CS experience. Disappointing and frustrating. ... show more
