  • Worked flawlessly out of the box. Bios update went smoothly.
Fantastic motherboard. A little expensive, but aren't they all? Lol. But the price was semi-reasonable for this board in my opinion, and it being of the x670e chipset. However, I chose this board due to its future-proof feature set, but didn't need a super overpowered VRM as I don't overclock or anything crazy like that, not to mention other unnecessary features that I know I wouldn't utilize and to be frank, think are just downright gimmicky and not needed for the majority of people at all. This seemed to be a perfect fit for me out of all the other mobo's I was looking at. Build quality seems to be superb. If you want a decent value motherboard that will last for many years, this very well may be it. Fresh socket AM5, DDR5 (people complain about AM5 not supporting DDR4, but DDR4 has been out for ages now, and I'm ready to move onto the next platform and utilize it for years to come!). Also, PcI-E 5.0 x16 slot for future graphics cards that will utilize this bandwidth down the line, as well as the future SSD's if you choose. It worked out of the box without issue. installed Windows right out of the gate and went ahead and updated the bios. Bios looks great and seems easy enough to work with once you get used to it. Couldn't ask for anything more! ... show more

  • Great motherboard, but be wary of the early adopter tax
This is a great motherboard. Yes for the price, X670E motherboards overall are quite expensive than they need to be. I'd say this motherboard should not have been more than $330 but this is a fresh platform so whatever. Features wise, it is missing some features which "should" have been on the board like LED Codes, Power button etc, but I consider them additional rather than a necessity. It is an extremely overkill board for even a 7950X (The CPU I am using), so regarding overclocking you will not be having any issues. One note that I want people to realize is, that as of writing this review, the platform is still relatively new, which means growing pains exist and if you are planning on adopting the AM5 platform, you will have to deal with them. Long BOOT times, instability with RAM timings and frequency, random crashes etc are all part of the early adopter tax. Future BIOS updates should fix this, however. Overall this is a great board for its' price relatively. I wouldn't recommend going for the TUF variant as it has lot of issues. Spend a bit more and get a motherboard that should last you for years. ... show more

  • Received with Bent pin, be care if you're using Affirm and not buying from amazon directly!
I unfortunately "lost the lottery" and received a New-in-box board with a bent pin. These things happen unfortunately, so I contacted Amazon customer service. Since I paid with an Affirm loan, the only options available to me were to refund the amount (which will be deducted from the loan amount) or leverage the MFG warranty to RMA. I couldn't get a replacement since it's from a third party seller (Asus) and I couldn't get store credit from Amazon to buy another unit. Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating against using Affirm, but I wanted to bring this up so people consider this. I chose Affirm because I'm in-between pay checks and I needed to get my PC back up and running ASAP for work. I was able to get the pin bent back into place (it's a VSS pin, fortunately) and the unit is now working. I did this out of desperation, however. (Since I need my PC back online). Now that this is out of the way, the motherboard (other than the bent socket pin) is pretty awesome. Well made, thick PCB. The M.2 and PCIE locks / quick detach are nice features and make installation a breeze. The Wifi antenna is decently strong and has a nice folding mechanism. While this is well known to many, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that the included paper manual is physically lacking. It doesn't list the optimal RAM configurations (it's Slots 2 and 4 for 2 sticks, btw) and the POST troubleshooting only mentions speaker beeps (there's no speaker) and not the LEDs the board is equipped with. ... show more

  • Superb
I'm not a gamer. I built several computers (like maybe 6) up until 12 years ago and held onto my last setup since then. Due to dust outside and inside and covering everything on and inside the entire motherboard and components it was overheating badly. The dust wouldn't blow or wipe off. With all the reports of high temperatures for the new boards and CPUs I was concerned about heat. Maybe components can survive it 5-6 years but I wanted this to be my last build. I finally went with the Asus ROG STRIX X670E-F, AMD 7900X, Gigabyte RTX 3060, Dominator Platinum 5200 (64GB), and Noctua-NH-D15. It is simply amazing. I set the BIOS to stay under 90C, and I set CPU and memory speed to auto-control. It runs all day in the 40C-45C range! During a Bitdefender virus scan (which will work out anybody's CPU) it stays in the 80s C, and it effortlessly steps CPU up to 5.5 GHz and memory up to the 4800GHz range. While the CPU gets pushed from 95-100% during scans, I run other apps and can't even tell the scan is happening. I have never seen it push memory to 5200GHz but I believe it would if needed. The machine is crazy fast with very efficient cooling. I got the Lian Li Lancool III and placed 3 additional 120mm fans in the top and 2 140mm fans in the bottom. ... show more

  • Not worth the price
The amount of features and quality of the board is extremely low for what you pay for. That rog logo is the cheapest thing I've seen, it's not even backlit really it's just an engraved piece of plastic with LEDs shining indirectly. The amount of coil whine was unbearable, I had to return this mobo for one that still has coil wine but was slightly better. Any bios profiles you create get completely wiped out when you flash a new bios so make sure you memorize your settings. Bios setting is useless for RGB, no matter what you do it will not shut off RGB when you turn aura off when power off setting on. Aura also does not play well with ram LEDs, if you have aura sync on the ram RGB goes through colors like it's gaming at 9 frames a second. Armory crate is almost useless. Everyone that is considering this board should know that Asus does not update it's drivers in a timely regular manner for current gen hardware, it's insulting when you spend the kind of money on board and they cant be bothered to keep their own software up to date. ... show more
