After having over heating problems with Asus Maximus Extreme in hot Florida climate, I got this board and could not be happier! MSRP is only about 900 more than Extreme, but when you factor CPU block, dedicated VRM block, the built-in flow indicator, and pump headers, it’s totally worth it. Installation is hard, and even after reading the manual, some parts were not clear. So I opened the installation video and followed it step by step. Attaching the thermal pads particularly was not easy. I added a side EKWB distro plate and mount the board in a Lian Li EVO case, since my O11 Dynamic case could not fit Asus 3090 OC24 EKWB active backplate fused to the GPU WB. The case was about 13mm too short in depth. Anyways, EVO fits everything perfectly, and it’s a much better case. I used BitsPower for all fittings and 16mm Acrylic Crystal tubes. Bending them was the most time consuming of all. However, the end result is something that is not only beautiful to look at, but it also keeps temps very low. With GPU over-clocked to 2032MHz, it’s stable at 70C with Superposition 4K test. CPU is between 30-80C, and memory would not go beyond 50C. This is all a major improvement over the Extreme board I had before. My memory is 64GB G.Skill 6400MHz, and I can run them at 5600MHz CL32 which is pretty good for 4 modules installed on any Z690 board. Overall, I’m extremely happy with my decision to return the Extreme and get the Extreme Glacial. If you plan on water cooling the Extreme, run the numbers, and you’ll see getting the Glacial is actually a better deal (of course at the MSRP and not scalping prices). Thanks for reading and YMMV. Was shipped an open box, water block had fingerprints on it, motherboard had plastic protection removed previously. I'm not able to test the board as I'm still waiting on components that are back ordered, but very nervous considering how much I just spent on this board.

One of the most expensive Z690 motherboards. The reason is the dedicated water block co-developed with EKWB. The design of the motherboard itself is almost the same as "ROG MAXIMUS Z690 EXTREME". Please note that a water cooling system is required in addition to this motherboard. Also, since the total weight is about 3 kg, you need to be careful when installing. EKWB's water block's robust cooling system allows powerful cooling of CPUs, M.2 SSDs, Chipsets, power supplies and networks. However, it is essential to configure a water cooling system equipped with a large radiator. The lighting system by A-RGB is also excellent and very beautiful. There are also four A-RGB connectors, so you won't run out. * One of them is for WB only Since the standard is E-ATX, it is necessary to be careful whether it fits the case you own. I'm using DDR5 overclocking memory, but I can use it with XMP settings without any problems. It's been about a week since I started using it, but I'm very satisfied. I hope that the future BIOS Update will further improve the stability and foster it. Although it is sophisticated as a product, it is rated as Star 4 because it is very expensive, requires a water cooling system, and has a poor distribution volume.
