  • Probably the best 13 inch ultrabook
CPU: i7-1355U
Great build quality, display, keyboard, trackpad, weight, battery life. Great performance too - can run with +2 monitors attached with no issues. In perf mode can be loud, but there is no need to use that ever imo. Standard mode is just perfect.

  • Great screen and fast ports
CPU: Core Ultra 7
Had to replace my WIN10 Asus with this WIN11 Asus laptop. This WIN11 machine ports are much faster for downloading and transferring data to external portable HDs

  • A breathtaking piece of machinery
CPU: i7-1355U
Its light, extremely portable and discreet, the display is gorgeous and works really fast (though not immediate as I hoped). Battery lasts quite a lot but I personally haven't timed it. If you use the usb-c ports to charge your cellphone and it's fast charge compatible, it will drain the laptops soul like a succubus and FAST. It does gets hot in the middle far end of the keyboard, but underneath. Its an affordable competitor to the macbook air with much better specs. I feel very satisfied with the purchase. ... show more

  • Asus RMA: Not So Bad
CPU: i7-1355U
Review: The Asus Zenbook S13 Oled is quite a stunning looking laptop, that much is clear if you are even thinking about buying it. One of the features that positively surprised me was the way the laptop base becomes propped up and angled by the screen when it is opened. This means that the hottest part of the laptop has space for airflow and is generally not in contact with your legs, *not* dumping heat onto you if you are resting it there while sitting for example. And of course the laptop is extremely light and feels great to move around, very portable! On the negative side of things, for a $1300 laptop, the top of the device immediately attracts a lot of fingerprints. That might be a problem with any kind of shiny technology, but for something with such a high price tag, you might care about aesthetics like that (and I mean, the top of this device is so cool to look at, it is a shame the fingerprints tend to muddy that). I don't really have anything to say about the panel being OLED. But if you get this laptop, you might want to go into windows settings > display > brightness, and disable "change brightness based on content." It is a very annoying feature if you are swapping between tabs a lot (problem with Windows, not the laptop). Unit Specific Issues - Asus RMA Review: It may have just been my unit - and hardware defects happen all the time, manufacturing can't be perfect I suppose - but one of the fans on the laptop was making a strange buzzing sound when it would run. The normal sound the fan should make is a light high pitched whine, but this sounded more like a vibrating toothbrush. Anyway, I had just bought the laptop when I noticed this, so I immediately sent it to Asus for RMA. I heard scary stories online how ASUS's RMA process can be a nightmare, but I can jump to the end of the story and say that the laptop came back in one piece with the fan fixed as I had hoped. BUT, strangely the WIFI would not work. It would connect to the WIFI but it would not actually receive or send data. I tried to update drivers and all that, but the only thing that truly fixed it was reinstalling Windows 11 from scratch. My wild guess is that resetting the CMOS battery in the unit during RMA (which Asus said they did) caused some weird things to happen to the OS. I mean I could tell the OS got messed with because when I tried to "reset" Windows through the recovery tab in settings, I was getting errors. Either way, Asus claims in their RMA that your data may be wiped in the process of repairs, so the fact that I had to freshly reinstall Windows the old fashion way is just how it is I guess. Otherwise, the device is here now working as expected. Maybe I got lucky, or maybe people on the internet got unlucky, but my RMA experience was not that bad, and I got what I needed without catastrophic headaches. So, I will say if your unit has any defects just make sure you follow all the advice on their website and you should be okay. Mega Nerd Stuff: Last thing. If you are going to try and install Linux, or fresh install any OS for that matter you are going to run into driver problems (as of 8/27/2023). Most notably, the SSD that comes with this laptop for some reason is not recognized while installing the OS, so you will need to know and have access to the correct drivers BEFORE installing the OS. My assumption is that the hardware in this device is too new for current drivers to be pre-packaged into most Operating System installations. Either way good luck if you attempt this journey. ... show more

  • Stylish tiny machine ASUS Zenbook S 13 OLED is not Perfect
CPU: i7-1355U
Got my ASUS Zenbook S 13 OLED yesterday. It's really light and feels sturdy, plus it looks good. Runs apps smoothly, thanks to the good RAM and processor. But, the OLED screen is a bit harsh on my eyes after a while. Also, no touchscreen, which is a bummer. The keyboard's kind of awkward at first, but you get used to it. Overall, it's a decent laptop, just has a few downsides to consider. ---- Update after using it for 6 months Screen is defective. Quality of the cover material. Amazon is doing nothi g to help their customer. Asus is not responding. Never amazon anymore ... show more
