  • It’s a sexy mic!
Well I decided on this mic after reviewing it on YouTube versus the SM7B. The reason I went this route was because both armed basically overkill for my YouTube channel but this one is rarely seen. Everyone and their momma has the Shure mic. I don’t want to be everybody. The highs are more crisp whereas with the SM7B you get that bassy feeling. If you like that heavier sound then all you need to use is an in program EQ. Sound is very natural and sound isolation is very good especially in an untreated room. I also simply run this directly to my Scarlett 2i2, no cloud lifter. You can get a lifter but not necessary if you aren’t in a professional studio. But is almost always required for the Shure mic. Lastly my logo was not attached to the mic as some have reported. I took a dab of gorilla glue and attached it in 2 minutes. Not worth returning a fully functional mic over. ... show more

  • Best for the price
I love this mic! It sounds super detailed and smooth. I love the polar patterns too. The shock mount is really nice quality. Can’t say anything bad about it, I have some other nice mics but this one is by far the best in this price range.

  • This IS a professional quality condenser microphone!
This brand of condenser mic is awesome! I already own the regular Aston Spirit & because of the build quality & performance I decided to get another one as a back up. I was lucky to find this black limited edition model/bundle pack. It is as beautiful as my regular edition. The sound/recording quality of the Aston Spirit is professional. Exceeding my expectations. Compared to my Shure SM7B, the Spirit is more crisp. Great for real singing. My Shure SM7B is great for spoken words/yelling/singing. Both are great!! I’ve never had or used a good quality vocal microphone or condenser microphone till this year “2021” & these upgrades have had a very big impact on the quality of my recordings in a productive & positive way. I couldn’t afford to buy the super duper expensive microphones that cost $1000 or more. This brand is a Great value for the price. If You could afford it, you could get 2 of these for that price, use one at all times, have a back up, & get the professional studio quality using it for recording vocals or acoustics!! I assume The Aston Origin is just as good and less expensive but the Aston Spirit does have more features and cost more. I am very happy with this brand and product!! ... show more

  • No it doesn’t sound like a Neumann, but it sounds damn good.
Outstanding! I’ve recorded on a Neumann in the past, both the tlm 103 and and the coveted U87 and no, this is not the same sound but it has its own quality and it sounds very very good. I looked at the AKG 515 and it was just too aggressive in the highs. The spirit sounds even, balanced and has an expensive sound without the budget. I’ve used the Aston Origin, but what it seems to lack in the lower range, the Spirit makes up for and then some and even has a smoother higher frequency. I don’t know that I can ever afford a Neumann, but as a sub $500.00 mic, this thing punches way above its weight. I’m very happy with my choice. ... show more

  • Damaged
Arrived on time but sadly was damaged. The XLR connection was missing from the bottom of the mic. Hopefully replacement doesn’t take long to arrive and is in a better state that this one. Love this company and willing to wait.
