  • So close to being great but for the price it is really good.
Color: Black
Great for the money and so close to being worth much more. The Good - Nice shorter scale length, this has a 30" scale length. Fret work was good. Very level and edges were fine. I did round the frets, as that is my preference and gave them a good polish. Fret board was really dry but that is common on new guitars it seems. Once it got a little bit of conditioner on there, it turned nice and dark. Neck was almost straight, and nut was cut good. Pickups sound fine. The not so good - The volume and tone pots seem to have a quick drop off. The knobs are really cheap, and head of the knob is a separate piece that needed to be glued back on (or just replace the knobs). Finish is fine but does have some blemishes (expected at this price point), Neck is nice but seems to get really wide as you move down. Nut is about 4 mm and 24th fret is 6.5 mm. Just seems extreme, maybe due to the scale length? The bridge took some thinking. In order to adjust the string height, I needed to have a good understanding of how the bridge works. On the individual saddles, there are 2 small Allen screws. The top one (in playing position) loosens the brass roller and the bottom one adjusts the height IF the brass roller is in the correct position (only one was on this guitar). To correct, needed to loosen the top one and back the bottom one almost all the way out. Then you need to rotate that brass roller until the adjustment gap (back of the roller) is in the correct place. Picture attached of where it should be. ... show more

  • It's a headless, short scale bass for $200
Color: Green
Nice little bass for $200. The entire length of this bass is like 32" compared to a modern day jazz bass that is 46". In my mind, it would be perfect for smaller stage or tight studio quarters. You can't get anything else headless for under $1,000. My bass did not come set up out of the box. String height and action is very high. Neck wasnt overly bowed. It does not stay in tune. I start a song in tune and by the end, it's off noticeably. Open string and played at 12th fret was surprisingly close, however. The bridge is quite a clever design but difficult to master. Attaching strings can be difficult due to tight spacing and they tend to want to pop out of the pegs as you apply tension. Included, is a handy little wind tool which was a stroke of genius. There are also settings to adjust string height and length but not the easiest to work with. This bass did not come with an owners manual and there appears to be nothing online for it. Slap bass is difficult on this platform because the neck pickups are so close to the bottom of the neck. There is only enough room for one finger and the pickups are quite high in relation to string height. But with such a short platform, not sure how this could have been avoided unless they went with a single, lower body pickup. This bass has an interesting sound as well. Not quite as signature as a Fender jazz growl but nice. Lots of range in sound with 3 tone controls. But hook up to a pre amp or modeling peddle and you can get whatever sound you want these days. Weight and balance seems good overall. Material and build quality is above average for what you might expect for $200. No sharp edges. Nice gig bag included with all the Allen wrenches needed. I've played this bass through a Focusright interface and it sounded really good in my monitors. I have not yet played through an amp. Im trying to decide if i want to keep it before taking it in to have it professionally set up and intonated. I'm afraid they'll say there isn't any adjustments to fix the action, at which point it wouldn't be suitable for live use in my opinion. ... show more

  • Appearance is great but its unplayable as recieved
Color: Black
Bridge design does not have enough height adjustment to get the action into a playable range. The neck could be shimmed but it would take a lot of shims. The area on the body where the bridge sits could be routed to lower it but who wants to do that on a new guitar? The bridge needs more adjustment to overcome the design flaw. Appearance of any new product is important and they got that right. However a guitar should be playable with out a rebuild. The body on this one was VERY heavy which some would see as good. This type guitar has a lot of potential. Sadly I decided I didn't want to do what it would take to make it playable so it was returned. ... show more

  • WELL NOW!!!!
Color: Green
The media could not be loaded. So I was expecting to find this huge box at my doorstep the size of a full size bass, but I could tell by the size of the package, that it wasn't necessarily a "full size" bass...…its more like a full size "short scale" bass....LOL!!!! But nevertheless, I look for the positives in these kind of instruments....I will say that the build is VERY NICE for such a low cost bass.....(the look is what attracted me in the 1st place....lol). That color green reminds me of that MONEY GREEN, OR FEDERAL RESERVE GREEN!!! Its really a cool little bass for the size, style and playability.....The bridge is quite interesting.....those Allen wrenches come in quite handy for tuning a headless bass...(the callous buildup on my fingers was not comfortable.....HAAAA!!)….. The double humbucker pickups are nice, and you can adjust to different tones with the 3 knob volume/tone controls.....Slapping on this bass isn't ideal, but using fingerstyle is quite the gem....The gig bag is a nice touch too....For the size of the bass, its no need to find a gig bag from the music store because that bag works quite well...….This bass can be used for a small gig, or recording purposes, or a travel bass to practice on while you're on the move....It doesn't stay in tune depending on how much you play it......so if you're a constant musician who's always gigging, you'll need to keep a tuner on hand (along with a proper set up from your local music store bass tech. (Hey, you get what you pay for, right?) I started playing on it after I opened it up and looked at myself in the mirror...….Kind of felt like Mark King playing this piece!!! (if you don't know who Mark King is, then look up the band LEVEL 42...….YOU'RE WELCOME....LOL!!) Anyhoo, I will have some fun with this lil' noisemaker of a bass right here!!..... Peace!!!! ... show more

  • I didn't really need it..
Color: Green
It seems to be a well made bass, 'cause I don't normally play bass guitar. My main instrument is pedal steel! I love experimenting.
