I had tried another (cheaper) mini lathe first, and it was a little too "mini" so I went for this one. After using it last night: It's great for what I'm doing (making wooden jewelry) It came with everything I need except sand paper. The carving tools included are actually a lot better than the tools I had from the local hardware store. The accessories for setup (I don't know the technical terms) jaws, the different bars for resting the tools while working, the centering drill, are all really nice, well made and make setup a breeze. Need a mini/micro lathe to work on wooden rings. Do not need the most expensive, just something that gets the job done efficiently and produces a great product. This one does it. And it comes with accessories that I would need to buy with the 3 other lathes I was considering. It is quiet, heavy (well built) and is streamlined for small jobs. This lathe is not a toy. I was so pleased to find that is a SOLID well made tool. Quality all around. I look forward to using it. It cost a bit more than many that are shown for much less $ but this is worth the price!! I highly reccomend for the serious hobbyist!
