  • VERSATILITY IS KEY: KeyStep widens the creative potential of your setup! This portable musical tool combines a keyboard controller with a polyphonic step sequencer to control both analog and digital devices. Compatible with synths or keyboards, analog or digital, hardware or software, its built for effortless real-time composition and live performance.
  • HIGHLY PLAYABLE: Its Slimkey keyboard action balances the main features of compact mini-keys with the musicality of full-sized keys, complete with velocity and aftertouch, giving you the freedom of portability without sacrificing playability. You can compose and perform effortlessly with 8 programmable sequence memories, change the feel of your sequences with on-the-fly gate time and swing adjustment, and transpose and overdub in real-time. You are set for hours of musical adventures!
  • GO BEYOND SEQUENCING: Each feature has been thought out to match live artists' hopes and needs. In Sequencer mode, you can record, play and transpose a polyphonic sequence with up to 64 steps and 8 simultaneous notes per step. Sequencer mode also allows you to rewrite in real-time your sequence and even to play and sequence simultaneously on two different MIDI channels.
  • ARPEGGIATOR AND CHORD MODES: You can also play up to 8-note chord voicings with a single key thanks to Chord mode or create exciting melodies and rhythms in seconds with KeySteps flexible 8-mode arpeggiator. It allows you to play each note of a chord consecutively instead of simultaneously.
  • ALL THE CONNECTIONS AND SOFTWARE YOU NEED: This MIDI keyboard will communicate with your setup without hassle. With MIDI over USB, MIDI in/out, analog sync in/out, and CV outputs, you can pair it with virtually any instrument! Keystep also comes with all the creative software you need. • Need a small keyboard with USB, Sync, MIDI, and CV?
Style: KeyStep
This is the best small format keyboard I have purchased. I actually use every function in this mini keyboard. The keys feel weird at first as it is not mini keys (kind of reminds me of the Korg Minilogue) but in-between mini and medium sized keys. The ribbon Pitch Bend and Mod Wheels work fine. It has velocity sensitive keys and supports aftertouch. What makes this great is it has a built in sequencer, an arpeggiator, and the best part is the support for MIDI, Sync and CV. If you have older MIDI gear or Modular setup, this can be used for both. Also, while you have a sequence playing from the keyboard, you can send to another device your live playing. I have hooked up an old drum machine with a sync out, connect sync in to the Keystep, have the Keystep play a sequence to the modular and play the Waldorf Pulse 2 via MIDI. That's pretty sweet for something in this price range. Must have for noodling around or for live setup of modular synth and drum machine. ... show more

  • Awesome MIDI Controller and Sequencer
Style: KeyStep
This thing is awesome. For the price, you simply can't beat it. Nice build quality, responsive keybed with aftertouch, 64 step sequencer with 8 note polyphony, arpeggiator with 8 order options, capacitive pitch and mod strips, chord mode, swing and gate functions, more than enough midi channels, and plenty of connection options to pair with other gear. There is no screen, so you will have to learn the buttons and their alternate shift function. Thankfully, Arturia put has an excellent user manual that will aid you in this. There are even more ways to program it with the online software, which is simple and easy to install. All in all, it is very fun to mess around on and can take your sound to a new level. It won't have some advanced features, but hey, its $100. Like I said, for the price, you can't beat it. ... show more

  • Perfect Keyboard Controller with amazing functions!
Style: KeyStep
Go to Youtube, check out the functionality. This product worked perfectly for me to add keyboard layers to my Video and Audio projects without taking much room. The functionality is amazing. The quality is heavy duty and the keys have an amazing touch for a product that is just over 100 dollars. 32 Keys, that can where the octave of the keyboard can be readily dropped and raised makes a limited number of keys, not a problem. The arpeggiator and sequencer will open up new worlds for those of you that may not have 20 years of keyboard experience but you want those nice pads or electronic backdrops. Check it out via Youtube! It does what it says it does. It is an amazing product for the money. They could have sold this for closer to 200 or even more. Thanks for putting it in reach for all of us Arturia. ... show more

  • Decent MIDI Controller
Style: KeyStep
Great value for money. Pretty Compact. Key quality is slightly clicky but that’s to be expected in a less expensive controller. Performs well, easy to travel with.

  • Great for the price
Style: KeyStep
For the price-this can't be beat. I primarily bought this to have a real, hardware sequencer, but I can use this as my primary recording keyboard for the most part by using the sound samples in my recording software (MixCraft). Heck, I can even connect this via MIDI into my old fashioned, much-loved rack mount type Roland hardware sample rack. No complaints here!!! ... show more

  • also comes with bonus software downloads . . . including ableton live 9 lite!!!
Style: KeyStep
i just received my KeyStep this afternoon, and it may be a little while before i get a good block of time with it. i am somewhat a newbie to this kind of musical equipment and recently, have been busier than usual . . . But this keyboard looks quite solid, receiving dis-proportional good review, also a nice size; having 7 more than the more common 25 keys, and these are also larger than a "mini" keyboard . . . so far, am more than glad I chose this product over some prominent "others" that were clearly advertising inclusion of the Ableton 9 lite software (that i could only wish this keyboard included when i chose it in spite of believing it didn't) So I have to comment concerning my complete surprise and sharing this fact for someone considering this keyboard ---- people should know . . . it is both a significant, and a very awesome plus to me that this DOES come with software downloads --- including the Ableton Live 9 Lite software ! ! ! (over a Gigabyte of software downloads all-in-all) I had already been searching related products, somewhat resigned to a necessity i would need to make additional hardware purchases just in order to get this kind of "bonus" necessary software . . . software i was completely unaware the Keystep already included. So, great!! And for the life of me, I still can't find where this is mentioned anywhere in the product listing or any of the other reviews. I must have missed it? However, it it is very clearly stated on the Product packaging . . . so I've just downloaded a firmware update, Ableton Lite, Arturia Midi Control Center plus a 'gift' software promotion "MiniFilter V" that is offered upon completing registration of the product. As reviewers have pointed out in their reviews of other similar midi products , the equivalent Ableton introductory software retails at about $80 as a standalone purchase --give or take a few $$$. Knowing all of this now ---this product is a no-brainer and a bargain for an introductory item in its class ... show more

  • Best feeling keys of its class
Style: KeyStep
I tried three other mini keyboards and finally landed on the Arturia Keystep. The next best is the midiplus X3 mini, but it suffers from overly stiff black keys. I would have preferred 37 keys, but at $129 this keyboard is a great deal. Others I tried: - midiplus X3 mini USB MIDI keyboard Controller (37 keys) - Alesis Qmini - Portable 32 Key USB MIDI Keyboard Controller - AKAI Professional MPK Mini MK3 - 25 Key USB MIDI Keyboard Controller ... show more
