These pens fit the hand well. The ink is water-based and very dark black. I don't know if it's washable after it dries as I didn't test it. It may well be because it is water based. You get two pens with your order. The nibs are of an absorbent composition material that you load by pressing it down against a suitable surface, the paper on which you are drawing or writing, for example. The nib retracts into the body of the pen, ink from the barrel reservoir flows into the nib, and you are good to resume your work. This is a handy feature, as it allows you to write or draw upside down, say if you are lying in bed or outside in a chaise lounge or laying on the lawn relaxing and have to make a quick note. The pen gets four stars due to two factors. (1) The cap does not fit onto the pen and stay put. I lost the cap twice. As is plain from photos 2 and 3, the barrel of the pen is indented at the end, supposedly to hold the cap in the usual manner of ball point pens; however, it doesn't do this at all well. The indentation is too thin, so the cap constantly falls off. It would be easy to lose or misplace the cap, at which point the pen could inadvertently mark up whatever it touched, and likely dry up by evaporation if the cap were not found and replaced quickly. Of course I don't know this for sure but magic markers dry up if not capped. Recall that the ink is water based. 2) The barrel of the pen doesn't hold a lot of ink. I wrote five-and-a-half pages in a small journal and drew six drawings. You can see in the first photo how much ink this used. The bottom line always is: Would you buy this product again? I might. But before I did, I would do some research and see if there were a better product on the market at the same price. Also: There is the caveat immediately below. There is, too, the question of whether the pen is 100% recyclable, or could it end up six months from now in the ocean and strangle an unwitting turtle? I have not been able to discover from the manufacturer's website whether the pens are recyclable. For this reason alone, I would be hesitant to buy this product. Meanwhile, the designers need to fix the wayward cap issue. ... show more

These markers are not bad, but be warned that the paint will easily smear on some surfaces. I tried to label a couple of plastic bottles but the paint just wiped right off. It worked on coated and uncoated paper if given proper time to dry, but plastic didn’t hold even after a few days. That said, the paint is good and opaque, and you can layer up multiple coats (again, given time to dry). ... show more

I was torn between a 3 and 4 star review but was generous. The pens are fine. You do have to prime them to keep them working which is usually for this type of pen. I like the thin nib. I was hoping they would be waterproof but they aren't. I used it to fix an item that is in a watery location and the ink did wear off some. I'll likely just touch up the area from time to time. I did want a fine line black pen to do some art projects and I think this will work well for that. Basic pen of this type, you get two pens which is nice. Not sure how long the ink will last. It might go fast, but I don't know yet. ... show more

Since you have to press in the tip to let the tip fill with paint, I felt I was flattening the tip more than I wanted, even though it was pretty firm. Then drawing with it, I didn't feel like the strokes were as clean I would have liked them to be. Granted I was painting on rocks, so that could have been a factor, but I just wanted more precision. ... show more
