Good project to do with your 11 to 15 year old, depending on the child. Comes with a holder but no cork backing. The backs are smooth wood, so the cork isn't really needed. I finished "dotting" this set of coasters a few days ago. They're beautiful and were quick to finish. I plan to cover them in a clear sealant to protect them from losing any of the tiny gems and from any water damage that might result from normal use.

Definitely not acrylic and the outer rim stays sticky since the gems don’t go to the edge. But it was quick and fun project. Great for if you want to see what gem art is all about and whether you like it.

The media could not be loaded. I was disappointed because this was a gift and it came without a box, and also there was no corks for the bottom like I’ve received with other diamond art coasters from other companies. I reached out to the company because that’s what the little thank you card said to do and no response. Ended up using a box and the cork parts to place under the coasters from another collection a bought because I hadn’t used it yet.
