  • A great game that become a total experience
In this game you are going to live the kind of life you want. Get money, buy things, have a job, have one (or more) relationships, invest your time in projects, live a healthy life or maybe die young. You can do whatever you want and in the end you can look back on your life and reflex on what you achieved. It's not a complex game and the rules are quite short, however I understand this might not be so easy to crack for someone who hasn't played modern board games. Barebones this is an euro game with resource management and worker placement mechanics. ... show more

  • So involved it wasn't fun. At all.
We ordered this game to play as a family during the Christmas break. I reviewed the SIX PAGES of instructions and couldn't figure out how to play the game. My wife reviewed the SIX PAGES of instructions and got the board set up properly, but couldn't figure out how to play the game. We watched a 30-minute video on YouTube explaining how to play the game, and came away with nothing. We packed it up and will probably drop it off at a thrift store. All components seemed to be made well. It's just way too complicated for a fun family game. ... show more

  • A fantastic story-telling experience if you are willing to invest the time.
Watch a how to play video on YouTube before starting. Plan to play for 2-3 hours. Write a summary of the rules to remember the important bits from game to game. Play with the same group so you don't have to keep teaching the rules. If you see a Heart Card, take it! Buy the Community Expansion to add more Heart Cards. It's fun to end each game with an oral "obituary" of your life! The pursuit of Happiness is great fun with the right group of people. ... show more
