Artilife Mini Hot Plate Small Hot Plate is a good little hotplate. Great for light cooking and keeping things warm. The handles make this plate easier to move around than others I use this for boiling and keeping water hot for the tea table. It doesn't take much space and works well. This is a good, basic single burner. It does not take up a whole lot of power or space which is a plus. The metal plate heats up well however it does take a while to bring things to a boil or even heat oil well enough to consistently fry with. Considering I grabbed this for camping, it has served its purpose well thus far (have make pancakes, moka pot coffee, sauteed veggies). I would not recommend this as a main burner unless it is for lighter cooking applications like sauteeing, simmering, or pan-frying foods. ... show more

    • It works but...
1. To get hot enough it has to be all the way to max. 2. The burner surface is IMPOSSIBLE to clean. It's so rough that any cloth, paper towel, wipe, etc leaves pieces behind. I finally used a paintbrush to get the cloth material off. Now I'm just careful. If it gets dirty it just has to burn off. 3. The whole unit gets very hot. It has to sit on metal. 4. It takes forever to steam anything which I do a lot. As cheap as it was I figure probably it will only last till I can afford a better one. ... show more

The first one that I bought made popping and cracking noises so I exchanged to try the replacement. It does the job but I have to keep it on high and adjust the heat from time to time to keep evenly heated to cook the food. Sometimes it takes a while to make coffee with a mola pot. I have this for emergencies to plug into a power bank in cade of power outages ... show more

This hot plate gets hot QUICK! I was not prepared for it to work as well as it did. I guess I have just gotten used to the hotplate at my grandmother house that may be over fifty years old, but this is not that. This benefits from the advances in technology while still using a classic and durable cast iron plate design. Some things just cannot be improved upon. This is a very well made hotplate. I could just tell when I lifted the box, it was heavy and didn't rattle at all. Once plugged this bad boy into the socket and spun the knob, it warmed up like it had something to prove... to the sun! Well maybe not that hot, but it got nice and hot very quickly. I was impressed at how well you could adjust the temp from super hot to just enough to keep a dish warm while you set up the rest of dinner. I can't wait to take this to my grandmother's house for thanksgiving, her old hot plate is gonna give up. The price of this was reasonable when compared to other plates available on Amazon at the same time while it was more adjustable and of better quality than many of the more expensive plates.     • So Much More Powerful Than It Looks
I expected nothing and I'm so so glad I took a chance. I had been on the hunt for an induction cooker but had been having a little trouble finding a good one with so many overwhelming options. When I picked this one I was basically just giving it a shot but I was wary, especially with how heavily it advertised itself as being sized for a Moka Pot (never had one, no clue what size they are, and from the picture I was assuming it to basically be only so big for a kettle) Instead this cooker is pretty sizable. It was impressed with its weight and heft, it doesn't give you the impression of flimsiness and I am SO SO SO glad I got the one with handles because while you can move it once you're done cooking this baby gets hot. In fact it gets so hot that if I didn't have the option with handles I'd have absolutely needed oven mitts to move it out of the way. The heat definitely lingered and I had to basically set it aside for about 30 minutes once I was done because the heat was such I was concerned about getting burned. Beyond that though this was so effective and good. I basically busted this out when another induction cooker left me wanting and I was shocked by how much better it was. The induction pan had a nice smooth surface and cooked so evenly. It was able to heat up a 4 qt stock pot that was just a little bit bigger without there being any cold spots. It was very easy to use, just plug in and turn on. I did have an experience where it seemed to 'cut off' when it got to a certain level of hot but I could basically turn it back on by increasing the dial a little. I'm not sure if that's a flaw or a feature but it was definitely cause for concern and I will be consulting the manual. The price is excellent and I'd say its low enough that you could get a couple for your kitchen needs. My stove is currently indisposed and this was so good that I immediately felt relief knowing I'd be able to cook tot the level I'm comfortable with even on a smaller stove. ... show more
