The other side is made of two layers of durable polypropylene which can be used as a blanket, tarp or shelter when camping, hunting, backpacking or boating. Keep one in the trunk of your car as part of your survival or winter kit. All four corners have reinforced grommets that it can be staked to the ground or strung up to create an overhead shelter. • Quality appears poor. Reinforcements are poor. Broke in 10MPH winds. Not happy.
Color: Blue
This is basically a glorified tarp with a reflective coating on one side. It claims to be reinforced, but based on the item falling apart after a couple months, I'm going with no, it's not properly reinforced. See the pictures. I had this lightly bungeed to the top of a wire based chicken run, to help some rain from entering the run area. It lasted a couple months until we had some light winds around 10MPH, and then it just completely fell apart. Before this, the eyelets where the bungees were going through were showing some signs of distress, like the blue tarp material was separating. Overall I'm not impressed. This is not durable, properly reinforced, or really even a tough tarp. It's flashy and looks nice, but completely non - functional and just fell apart on me. I'd give zero stars if I could. Cheap tarps for half the price have held up better for me. ... show more

  • Seams are weak!
I bought two of these for my pop up camper. I was going to use to shade the tops of the pop outs. I liked that they were water proof and the description said heavy duty. These are not heavy duty! I barely pulled the blanket across the top of my camper and it ripped on the seam where I was holding it! Literally ripped within minutes of taking it out of package! ... show more

  • Ripped after 1 hour of use.
Color: Orange
Mine ripped on one of the corners within the first hour putting it into a lean-to shelter configuration. I wrote a very lengthy review about my experience with this tarp, but either Arcturus or Amazon flagged it for removal. So I’m rating this again but with no details.

  • Feral cat approved! Tears easily however.
I have made at least 30 little shelters for my outdoor feral cats and they all prefer the ones with these tarps. It's been freezing cold down below zero and they always run to the ones with these tarps. Coincidence? I think not. My cats are so smart when it comes to warmth. It would be awesome if they came in larger sizes too. I didn't see any if there are. Update: Unfortunately, I had to take at least one star off because one of the corner grommets ripped just like the one bad review of this product in which the person showed the picture. But it did happen after some major winds. I'll repair it with gorilla tape. I noticed that it's only happened on the one side I used rope on. The ones directly hammered into the ground are doing fine so far. It's only been a few weeks, so idk. Still thinking about buying another one due to the warmth factor. Further update: The ones I staked down with cord are torn in the corners even worse now. Another update: I'm torn literally.lol! But I bought 2 more. I've wrapped them around myself and can really feel a difference. I probably won't be using cord with these since those are the only ones showing wear and tear. The other ones staked directly into the ground are still holding up fine. My cats absolutely love their shelters with these on them. I can put it on the worst made shelter and they'll pick it. So, I spoil them and are getting more. :/ I think I may put another regular type of tarp over these for even more warmth and to help avoid more tearing. ... show more

  • Horrible Stitching & Structure
Color: Coyote Brown
Having bought this for the Pathfinder Basic class, I used it last night for the first time to make a plow point shelter to sleep in. I went to adjust the farthest stake point (ridge) because the center was sagging on me, and after beating down the stake, the opposite grommet (ridgeline toggle) just ripped, separating the waterproof material from the black fabric at the corners. Any further use will continue to rip the structural fabric from the Arcturus material in the middle. Definitely wish I had bought the Pathfinder equivalent. Dave told us he test each shipment with the tarp hanging on one corner and a cinder block suspended from the opposite diagonal corner. I'm going to see if I can return this stupid thing. ... show more

  • Survival blanket
For 20$ you’re getting a high end tarp, and boy is it tough I just set this up using a lean to, plow point, and A frame emergency shelter and stretched this as hard as I could and it’s blowing a solid 25-30mph in my backyard and this tarp didn’t disappoint! This is a great survival tarp/blanket buying two more as we speak for wife and daughter ... show more

  • Good, with a bit of smell.
Color: Blue
This tarp definitely help keep body heat in. I break a sweet sleeping in it. There it's a bit of chemical smell out of the box. If you hang it outdoor for 48 hours and hose it a few times in between it will reduce most of the aroma. The item come with a carrying ziplock bag made of the same material. With my unscientific testing, thanks to the aluminum lining, placing my phone inside the bag and closing it will cause a smart phone to possibly lose data signal and reduced nearby Wi-Fi signal. To me this is a positive aspect of this material, but make of it what you will. ... show more

  • Compact tarps that worked well as an extra layer on my sleeping bag
I purchased these to go winter camping outside of Ely MN. The temps were pretty warm -- highs of about 36, and lows about +18F, with winds averaging 12-20 mph. I slept under the stars with a sleeping bag rated at +20F. I used one "blanket" as a ground cloth and a second one as a blanket over my bag. I was warm all night long. They are more compact than my usual "blue tarps" as ground cloth. Since it was so warm, I cannot be sure that the reflective coating [space blanket] helped or not. ... show more
