  • Lightweight, Versatile, and Essential for Outdoor Adventures
Color: Olive Green
The Arcturus Heavy Duty Survival Blanket is an absolute must-have for anyone who enjoys camping, hiking, or needs a reliable emergency blanket. I was impressed with how well it performed during our recent camping trip, and it's become one of our favorite pieces of gear. The Mylar reflective side is perfect for reflecting heat or creating a radiant barrier, which is especially useful when you need to keep warm or signal for help in an emergency. The polypropylene side adds durability, making it great for use as a ground tarp, shelter, or even as a waterproof blanket. We've used it as a windbreak around our campfire on windy days, and it worked beautifully to keep the warmth in while blocking the cold wind. At 60" x 82", this blanket is a great size for all kinds of uses, whether you're setting up a shelter or laying it out as a ground cover. Despite its size, it's incredibly lightweight at just under 1 pound, and it packs down small into its carry bag for easy transport. We were pleasantly surprised by how easy it was for our 11-year-old to set up and take down the shelter. The reinforced grommets are another great feature. They make it simple to hang or secure the blanket, and the grommets are strong enough to withstand the tension when tied down. It’s clear that a lot of thought went into the design and durability of this blanket. Whether you're using it as an emergency shelter, a tarp, or just keeping it in your car for unexpected situations, this blanket is super versatile. It's also waterproof, which makes it useful in all weather conditions. It’s incredibly strong, durable, and packs down light, making it an easy addition to your outdoor gear or emergency kit. Overall, the Arcturus Heavy Duty Survival Blanket is a fantastic, multi-purpose product that holds up to its claims. Whether you're in the woods or need it for emergency preparedness, this blanket is a reliable and practical tool. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Big but has multiple uses
Color: Orange
I am very satisfied with my purchase of this stout emergency tarp/blanket. Yes, it is very bulky in my pack compared to a standard mylar blanket. However, this tarp/blanket has multiple uses and is reusable. Compared to mylar blankets, this tarp is robust. It will allow me to make very nice emergency shelters. As for rain or cold coverage, this item has me covered. I will probably use it most frequently as a clean, dry blanket on the ground mid hike to get some rest and a bite. Finally, when folded, it can serve as a comfortable seat cushion. I am not worried about the weight, but it is bulky compared to the standard mylar blanket. That is the only downside. Enjoy. ... show more

  • Durable and effective, a little heavy
Color: Coyote Brown
I bought this tarp to fill my shelter requirement in my get home/run away bag and I have field tested it twice while camping in the north east United States during summer. First things first the tarp arrived promptly, the folded and bagged package was smaller than I expected but heavier than I expected as well. The folded tarp fits well into a standard size backpack, I utilized the large flat pocket that is closest to my back and it is comfortable while also stiffening the backpack shape and protecting my back from sharper equipment stowed forward of it in the bag in case of fall or tumble. The initial camping trip I used paracord and some trees to set up a simple shelter with an open front and a small fire pit. I didn’t need the reflective properties during that trip but I could feel the heat from the fire bouncing off the angled back of the shelter and when the wind picked up the grommeted eyelets held even with lazy minimal effort rigging. The second time is more relevant to my personal uses for the product. We were in a campsite on the edge of the Delaware river and a sudden storm caused flash flooding, particularly worse and dangerous in the steep sided valley we had chosen to camp. We became cut off from the road out by a normally dry channel at the tree line and had to abandon our vehicles and watch a full camping site wash away. I grabbed my backpack, young children and drunken common law wife and we moved on foot/waded yo higher ground but we’re pretty much marooned until the water receded. I set up the tarp in a low slightly angled configuration, i had a poncho liner in a small dry bag and we were comfortable until morning. ... show more

  • Great blanket!
Color: Olive Green
Good size so would work as a ground cloth for either a bag, a bivy, or even a tent! I sewed velcro patches along the edges and can form a "pouch" to slide into. Use it this way when I'm sitting on a hunting stand to block the wind and trap heat. Because it is not really "sealed" on the velcro edges, there is enough flow through to keep condensation next to nothing. ... show more

  • - PostBlizzard -zero update 22 Feb 2025
Color: Olive Green
Pitched on double para-chord from AMA at 29', winter storm warning in hand next four days. First slide in test was amazed I could feel my body heat reflecting on face, my first time on that. Will see how it holds in wind and below zero indexes. Happy so far, git chu a pair.. First week update: still pitched in yard, survived two blizzards, -15 wind chills, 6" snow, 35-70MPH gusts. Despite what grunt proof has said there are no collapses (only one re-stake to tighten para-chord), no grommet tears, no punctures. We are headed into another week of daily snows and nightly below zero wind chills. I expect NO damages. 20feb update, post snow major wind, grommets still holding with snow load. 22Feb update, I finally managed to damage the Arcturus; After installing extra grommets and resetting an off-center ridge-line I over-tightened the Prussic toggle and tore the grommet out. No fault of the tarp. Here is my recommendation, don't try to move or tighten a set tarp under twelve degrees, they are somewhat fragile. Photo taken with remaining snow at 45'F. ... show more
