About 2 years ago, I upgraded my CPU to an AMD 5800x3d. This chip runs really hot, and my fan cooler wasn't cutting it. I got an MSI Mag 280 (thankfully with store credit from a different store). The MSI AIO was better than the fan cooler... but not by much. Recently, I was experiencing hard crashing in-game and finally sussed out that it was the CPU overheating. I decided to buy a new AIO. I was surprised this ARCTIC AIO was actually cheaper than the MSI AIO, and the good reviews (on Amazon and 3rd party experts) pushed me towards purchasing it. Fingers crossed, right? The results have been outstanding. The MSI AIO would maintain idle temperatures in the high 40s. This ARCTIC cooler maintains it in the high 20s. When I stress tested the cooler, it maintained the temperature in the low 80s. In game, it's now topping out in the 70s. What's more, this AIO is quiet. When idling, I can barely tell the computer is on. Even when the fans are running at 100%, it is significantly quieter than the MSI AIO. Install was not complicated, and took about 15 minutes. Some have complained about the difficulty of attaching the AMD bracket to the motherboard, but I didn't have much trouble. You just have to apply some pressure. There are also very good step-by-step directions and a video when installing, which was quite helpful. The product itself seems very sturdy and well constructed, and I appreciated that I could purchase a model without RGB, which I something I don't care about. I recently upgraded to the ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III 360, and it’s been a fantastic addition to my PC. This AIO cooler delivers exceptional cooling performance while staying whisper-quiet, even under heavy loads. Cooling Performance: The cooling capabilities of this AIO are outstanding. My CPU temps have dropped significantly, even when running demanding games or heavy workloads. The 360mm radiator paired with the efficient pump ensures consistent performance without spikes in temperature. Quiet Operation: One of the standout features is how quiet it is. The PWM-controlled fans operate between 200–1800 RPM, and I can barely hear them during regular use. Even at higher speeds, they’re quieter than other AIOs I’ve used in the past. This is an incredible AIO with class-leading performance at its price point and beyond. Let's get the con out of the way first: the mounting hardware feels a wee bit flimsy compared to my outgoing Corsair. This does a great job cooling my 7950X3D. Phenomenal cooling performance (no doubt thanks to the offset mount), quiet factory fans, quiet pump, and the magnetically-attached VRM fan is great from a serviceability perspective. These P12 PWM fans are seriously impressive, offering great performance and a low noise profile at a ridiculously affordable price. In fact, these are such a good value that I picked up another three to add to this cooler for push pull--allowing me to drop back the RPMs on the fans further. While I'm still tweaking my fan curves, I'm getting crazy low temperatures barely cracking into the 70s under load when using PTM 7950 phase change material as the thermal interface material. I can't imagine paying nearly double this for similar or worse performance. Arctic has a real winner on their hands with this one. ... show more
