The auto darken feature is noticeably better than the store bought helmet I already had. Much better head gear too, multiple points of adjustment so you can get the fit just right. I have a lot of hair that gets tied into a pony tail and this helmet accommodated that with zero issue. I got this replace a handheld face shield I was using to weld with for a couple of important reasons. - Having a full on the head helmet with auto darkening frees up one of my hands - A full helmet vs a shield provides protection for my entire face and neck. The hand held shields are hard to use because you have to manually raise them up in front of your eyes when needed and they dont protect your skin around your neck and face from being burnt. With a bald head this was a big issue for me and I swore after the last time I ended up with random "sunburn" spots on my neck and head I swore to myself to find a helmet and settled on this one. The helmet itself is as comfortable as any other type of head band mounted helmet. It is similar to the strap used on a VR Headset. I love the auto darkening component of the welding helmet and this is where this product really shines. It allows you to see what you are doing before you start, so that I can get my welds lined up and it instantly/automatically blacks out as soon as the welding starts. When the welding stops, the glass goes back to normal allowing me to view my results and/or make adjustments as needed. All without have to remove the helmet, or flip it up or down. It keeps my hands free for work and protects my eyes and skin from damage/injury. A mast like this makes welding much more enjoyable, easier to do, and allows me to more efficient in my time welding. The front plastic cracked within 2hrs of use. Other than that it has worked as advertised. Fits fine on my big head, visibility is good and the auto dim works great. Not as comfortable and reflects flash inside. Looks cool. **Update** a replacement was sent super fast from the seller. I changed the front plastic and again within 2 days it cracked. I baby this thing and wondering if it’s the heat that is cracking the plastic. I will increase one star because of costumer service. ... show more

Reasonable price, good field of vision, screen responds quickly when in use. I do have to tighten the knobs on the headset that hold the shield up frequently thhough as they loosen up easily allowing the shield to fall back down when I'm trying to examine my work.
