This air pump runs quieter than any of this type I've ever heard before. It has excellent filtration for incoming air, recommends replacing the diaphragms when they wear out from use, and has the replacement parts readily available. It's got bubbles roiling out of four big air stones and could easily handle more. We've used a series of extremely loud air pumps for our Koi pond for the past decade or so, so loud they've been the first thing we hear when we step out back. They've been pretty much 'disposable', since I've been unable to find replacement parts for them, so they've been tossed out after a couple years. This is for the AP-60. I can’t speak of the longevity as I’ve only had it 3 days running 24/7, but this is the quietest air pump I’ve ever owned and very cool running too. To me that says it’s built well and should go towards it lasting a decent amount of time. The rebuild kits are inexpensive unlike some other brands out there and rebuilding pumps is part of the deal where you spend extra money so it’s nice they don’t charge 1/3 the cost of the pump. I have it running with 2 4” and 1 8” air stones in a moving bed filter and it more than meets my needs for that purpose! ... show more

i ordered this to replace a pump that was running 6 sponge filters, with the hope id be able to run additional tanks off it. it didnt even run the 6 sponges at full power, all had brand new airstones. the next day, the output dropped to less than half. total waste of my time and money. there is NO WAY this pump produces the stated volume and pressure of air. only good thing i have to say is that its very quiet ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Purchased this unit about 18 months ago, everything was great. Yesterday I hear this loud noise coming from my fish room. I find out it's this unit and it's very warm. Turned it off and contacted the manufacturer. Horrible service, they want video (which you can't send to them) and a bunch of other stuff. Well, here's the video.... Ok, so customer service went out of their way to make it right and sent me the parts needed to fix this. Took a little over a week to receive them and about 15 min to install.
