Features

  • [NOTES] Requires an Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub and a secured 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network connection. The Motion Sensor P1 is compatible with Aqara Home, HomeKit, Alexa, IFTTT, and more. *Please update to the latest firmware version to use.
  • [5-Year Battery Life] The Motion Sensor P1 has an industry-leading five-year battery life and will have acceptable battery life even in low temperatures or lightning-fast detection timeouts.
  • [Configurable Detection Timeout] The detection timeout can be easily configured without any hardware modifications. By configuring the timeout from 1 to 200 seconds in the Aqara Home app, you can save energy or sense every movement in no time.
  • [Adjustable Viewing Angle & Detection Distance] Extra-wide field of view: 170 for up to 4 meters and 150 for up to 7 meters. With a versatile 360 stand, you can easily adjust the viewing angle, and only trigger the sensor when its needed. Moreover, the three sensitivity modes (high, medium, and low) are configurable, and they refer to the distance the sensor will be triggered from.
  • [Alert System and Home Automations] By setting the Aqara Home Alert System or using it in HomeKit or other supported systems, you will enjoy constant monitoring, local sound, light alarms, and cloud notifications in case motion is detected. The sensor is also a part of smart home automations: configure the IF conditions and THEN actions, and many routine tasks such as turning on the lights with the Aqara Smart Wall Switch or controlling the TV with the Aqara Smart Plug can become automated.

  • Works basically as expected. Not as fast as the older, cheaper motion sensor.
I have several of these as well as the older ones from Aqara. The new ones aren’t as fast as the old ones in automations. They take about a second longer to work, but if you need to adjust sensitivity or reset time, these are the ones you need. The old ones don’t work in Alexa or Google home but these do, so if you use those ecosystems you’ll have to buy this one. I’d recomed these because they’re still faster than almost every other motion sensor. ... show more

  • Great motion/lux sensor!
A lot of people have had range issues with these. I have noticed that mounting them between 1 and 2m from the floor works best. Don't mount them high up. While mounted at 7.5' in the corner, they had a range of about 4 feet. When i moved it lower to 3-4 foot up, the range was enough to cover the entire hallway (15 feet). I use these with HomeAssistant and Zigbee2mqtt. They pair quickly and are reliable and responsive! ... show more

  • Homekit
These are the best HomeKit motion sensors for the price. The only better sensor I’ve used is eve. The Lux sensor is not HomeKit exposed but is technically possible (with a lot of work) through homebridge.

  • Excellent Motion detection on the 30 Seconds configuration.
This is my first P1 Motion sensor and it's installed on a Hallway with stairs. The sensor is able to cover 3ft extra on the top and 3ft on the bottom. The P1 is also able to detect a medium size dog. Different Scenarios based on time of the day and home occupancy. (Simple to complex) 1.- During the night this will turn On the lights on the stairs for 3 minutes. 2.- Once everybody is sleeping 11PM, this will Turn 3 lights send a notification to my mobile, it will broadcast video from a TP LinK Kasa Camera directly to my Fire tablet. Also Point the Aqara G3 camera to the same area. Also, based on G3 camera detection, if the dog is trying to exit to the patio to poop it will Ring a bell on a Echo Speaker and speak loud "Dog poop" (Turning On the lights initially, really helps the dog to go straight to the patio door. No more poop on random locations) 3. No occupancy, no dog: Send notification to all Mobiles via Alexa App. Turn on the lights, broadcast video to Fire Tablet. ... show more

  • Works with Home Assistant and Z2M
I just got it today, so I cannot comment on any long term usage. I also already have Home Assistant setup, along with Mosquitto, Zigbee2MQTT, and a TubesZB router. This is my experience based on this... The device setup and paired with Z2M without issue. It appeared in Home Assistant right away. All I needed to do with the Aqara sensor was to remove the plastic tab from the battery slot, and then hold the button on the back of the device until it lit up. About 5 seconds. From there, I was able to added it to Z2M the same as any other device. In my limited testing, the motion sensor seemed to work as expected. The device also includes an illumination (lux) sensor. It appears to be be working fine. I don't plan on taking any measurements to make sure it is accurate. I'll update this review if I notice any issues. I wanted to get this review out quickly to help others. Hass and Z2M isn't officially supported by Aqara. But it seems like they follow Zigbee standards well enough to integrate with other software. ... show more

  • Aqara products usually top shelf, but the Aqara P1 motion isn't the best
I'm huge fan of Aqara, and never had a problem with any of their sensors, mechanical or otherwise. The Aqara Motion P1 really isn't worth the added cost versus the previous generation. The P1 is very energy efficient. Which is great.. But- In in attempt to save power, the P1 doesn't communicate as often as previous gen, which means things like luminescence or lux info isn't broadcast as often. Which means that you can not dependably use this device for use/automation with other devices. i.e. If no motion (reason to wake/transmit) is detected, the luminescence or lux is the previous value. So the lux value is almost always outdated/incorrect. For this very reason, the increased battery life and increased cost of the unit- isn't worth upgrading to this generation motion sensor. ... show more

  • Great so far
I bought this to replace the unreliable sensor that was built in to my porch light fixture after bypassing the sensor and installing a smart bulb. It linked to my Home Assistant server via my Sonoff Zigbee dongle with no issues. Adjustable detection interval and sensitivity work well. Triggers the light on/off automations without fail so far. Mount adhered securely to the outside of the door frame no problem. ... show more

  • Nice design, easy setup; tech support has been less than timely
I've bought several of these. The physical design is quite nice and easy to incorporate in my network, but I'm having a problem with one of them. I contacted their support 8 days ago and haven't heard back yet.
