  • Great price for a great tablet.
I’m always a little nervous when purchasing a refurbished product, but I’ve had pretty good luck on Amazon so far. Here’s my experience with my new-to-me iPad to help anyone who may be skeptical or afraid to pull the trigger on this purchase. Here’s what to expect. As for condition? The iPad I received came in very good cosmetic shape, with only a few minor scratches on the screen, but unfortunately there was one very deep scratch that is about half an inch long that I can see even when the display is on. It is pretty easy to get past and only noticeable when you are very close to the screen. The aluminum enclosure is in near perfect condition and looks very close to brand-new. There may be a very tiny nick here and there, but nothing that is easily spotted or a cause of concern. Battery life for me may be slightly degraded from when it was straight out of the box, but iPads have awesome battery life for pretty much any situation, so it still lasts a very long time. And also note that the updated iPad Pros that released in 2018 charge with a USB-C cable. This means a standard Apple lightning connector will not work. I have been through a ton of what this iPad can do and it works beautifully for all I’ve asked from it. The display is phenomenal. 12.9 inches from corner to corner, which is a joy to work on. There’s plenty of room to work, study, and play. Watching movies and shows is also a fantastic experience being all-screen. Even 4 years later in late-2022, this thing is speedy quick and packs plenty of performance for your day-to-day tasks. It doesn’t skip a beat and Apple is still providing software updates for it as well. The camera is also very clear for a tablet and offers great performance for what it is. So far, I’d say this is an incredible deal on such a powerful device that feels like it will have no problem powering into the future for many more years to come. UPDATE: (10 Months Later) AUG 2023 - We are almost at a year now of the ‘refurbed’ iPad Pro and it’s still one heck of a performer with no issues or slow down to speak of. It just got updated to the new iPadOS 14 public beta so it’s still got a ton of life left software-wise. It does so much that even after so long with it, I’m STILL finding more things it does that I never knew it could… I’m still going to ‘daily-drive’ it for as long as it lets me as it has done everything I’ve asked of it and more. Since it is nearly 5 years old though, the battery likely needs to be replaced. I’m still getting great battery life as I only have to charge it maybe once every 2-3 days with mild to moderate use. With heavy use, I still bet you could get over a full day out of it easily. I find it very strange that you can find your battery health on iPhone and Apple Watch, but it’s non-existent on the iPad. At an Apple Store, the 12.9 inch Pro (3rd Gen) requires an estimated $119 service fee for a new battery. That’s a lot, so be prepared if you plan to ride it out for as long as you can. To sum it all up, if I would’ve known I’d have such a positive experience with this iPad being refurbished and all, I wouldn’t have been even the slightest bit nervous to purchase and would no problem do it again. Every experience with a refurbished product will be different. But if you go in with low expectations, you might just end up with a gem that exceeds them in every way possible. Just make sure you’re getting the 90-day Amazon Renewed Guarantee and use it to your hearts content within that period to make sure it’s the one for you! ... show more

  • Great for school
When I bought this I pad for school, I was able to do my work for school as the class required with ease It has the latest updates keeping on track with my schoolwork and functionality, it was easy to setup and the pen response is able to keep in sync with me, the AI server has less hiccups than my Windows PC, I was worried at first it being refurbished but it's right on par even with my iMac 24inch, the battery last me through several classes, the color quality and screen resolution is great, and also light enough to carry to class, so far I have no complaints. ... show more

  • AMAZING!!!
I bought this for nursing school because everyone raved about using one for notes. I was skeptical about getting used, but it is practically brand new! There were no scratches and it’s been a year and a half and I’ve had 0 problems. Highly recommend! Save your money on a brand new one!

  • Does not meet quality standards (seller ethics questions) - strongly suggest reading my review.
Beware - they will not allow you to do an exchange, so the entire thing is a gamble. You're relying on them to send you something that meets the quality standards which... the iPad they sent me did not. Now I have to send it back, wait for a full refund, and then MAYBE order another which I probably will not now because I'm not willing to pay more (they've since raised the price) when this is a result of the seller's negligence. They do not allow you to contact them for support. I purchased an iPad Pro in "excellent" condition, which is significantly more costly than what they sell them in "good" condition. The criteria for excellent condition is: "Screen: No scratches Body: No signs of cosmetic damage (scratches, dents, and other) are visible when the product is held 12 inches away." The smashed corners are visible from 12" away. Particularly the top left, where the screen is starting to lift up a bit/is disconnected from the sides. I looked at refurbished ipads on sites that show them individually - by those standards, something with this much cosmetic damage would be sold as being in "fair" condition. Also, of course, there's a noticeable dent on the back of the iPad which... per the policy, that dent alone would disqualify this item as being in "excellent" condition. Whoever owned this iPad beat the hell out of it, which leaves me with concerns about it's functionality as well, particularly when it appears that very little quality control was done before this thing got shipped out to me. There is no way someone would look at this iPad, look at the criteria, and think, "oh yeah, man. This one goes out as excellent!" Also, and this is the bigger issue, under Amazon's certified refurbished policy, the refurbished item must have at least 80% battery. "Product must be within an approved category and meet the criteria standards with a battery capacity exceeding 80% of the new equivalent and with any repair operation utilizing Original Equipment Manufacturer parts." You will see my photo, but the iPad they sent me only has 79.3% battery life - when you're spending upwards of $500 on something, that matters. Particularly when the iPad is in the condition of what they sent me. You would think, when checking these things, they would err on the side of caution. Like, factor in a buffer? If it was reading 80% when they shipped it out, and reading 79.3% by the time it got to me, that's concerning. Feels like they're just banking on people not bothering to QC their purchase... which is unethical. The quality in which this iPad arrived to me is not acceptable. I could get past the physical damage (though, that's shady of them to be putting customers in the situation of, 'this isn't what I paid for, but is it worth the effort?'), but the battery issue I cannot. There is no way they didn't see the damage, I have to imagine the thought process was like, "it's not THAT significant... would probably not be worth the hassle to exchange it for just that". Which, they would have been right, but since they tried to rip me on the battery I'm not doing it. Really I have questions about the overall quality of this seller's refurbishment - I don't trust them. TDLR: Seller is doing the most, to do the least. They're either negligent or shady. Buyer beware. This entire thing has been a huge hassle to me at absolutely no fault of my own - the frustration and stress that the dishonesty and/or negligence of the seller has caused me is beyond infuriating. So much for having my iPad for the holidays. Would love it if the seller would contact me to get something worked out, I would have contacted them had I been given the ability to do so. If they do reach out, I will update the review, but as of now, I'm sending it back and then I guess looking for a more reputable seller. ... show more

  • 5-Star Purchase!!
I was hesitant purchasing this refurbished Pro but couldn't be more pleased - I've had NO problems whatsoever.....it works amazing, I love the bigger screen and being able to use a Pencil for artwork - which was the original intention. Would highly recommend! 🥰
