  • Should help, expensive using daily as recommended
I've only started using this product about ten days ago, but it does seem expensive if used daily as recommended. It's used in conjunction with Leaf Zone per product recommendation. I haven't seen significant growth in the plants as yet, but most are slow growing to start with such as anubis and java ferns. It was highly recommended on YouTube by an aquascaper. It is a convenient source of CO2 without having to get elaborate equipment. ... show more

  • My plants are thriving!
My plants in my aquarium were turning brown and crispy after a big batch of platy babies were born. After using this for a couple of weeks my plants were turning a healthy green and after a month I am seeing new growth.

  • Yes and no
After purchasing this product I told people in a Facebook group that I was going to add this product to my tank care and they gave me a lot of strong warnings not to use it, that it was toxic, and that it could kill my fish. I didn’t have any snails and algae was getting out of control, so I went ahead and tried it at a very low dose. They were talking about dosing at the recommended levels like most people would. I’ve been using it in syringe and only about 1/10 the recommended dose, only when algae starts getting out of control. It does seem to kill off excess algae very quickly while also promoting root growth. So it does seem to do what it says. Even when I just use a tiny amount, my plants always have tons of additional roots within 24 hours. I hope it‘s not doing any long term damage to my lovely fish in this super low dose, cause I’m lazy and I love how fast it seems to work and improve the look of my plants. I wish I felt safe using it at higher doses. I would love to see what it could really do. I’m using only 5 drops which is 1/10 of a milliliter, in a 5 gallon tank. It’s pretty impressive. I don’t use it daily or weekly, only when I see an issue starting. I purchased some snails, which it is supposedly bad for, but they are still alive at that dose. And it only decreases the algae mildly at that dose, so they still have enough to eat. Personally, I would rather use this than snails to control algae since they threw off my tank parameters more than this product does. Even in my tiny 2.5 gallon tank it only takes a few drops of this stuff to quickly control excess algae growth. I would advise people to start at a very low dose like I did. At any rate, so far it seems to work, even at very low doses. I only gave it 3 stars because people who know more than I do about fish care warned me so adamantly against using this product in particular, at the suggested doses on the bottle. ... show more

  • Amazing for Preventing Algae
ALGAE PREVENTATIVE: I use this almost strictly as an algae preventative and it works amazingly!! I dose every morning when I first turn on the lights for the day. I have been told that the beginning of the "photo" (light) period is the best time to use CO2 for your plants and to keep your fish safe. The measuring cap is really made for tanks at least 10 gallon and above, so I poured some of my CO2 booster into a clean glass dropper bottle and made a label for how to measure it in drops instead of ML for 1 gallon snail tank and my 5 gallon pea puffer tank. PLANT GROWTH: Meh - I haven't really seen significant gains, so this product looses one star, however I am pretty sure that it has help to halt some plant death, so that is a plus. MY PETS: They're fine with it. My fish and snails have not reacted adversely to this at all (even when I added a few extra drops to see if there was a change in their behavior). ... show more

  • Good product. Great for plants. Good for helping fight BBA. Good price.
The API CO2 Booster works great. I use it to fight Black Bear or Black Brush Algae (BBA). But, it works well for your plants. Great to use with a plant nourishment as well of any brand. Low CO2 is a big contributor to BBA as well as excessive lighting. The API CO2 Booster is usually cheaper than other brands or similar. I can usually find the API CO2 Booster on Amazon at a good price. API products work well, and they are usually cheaper than other brands. Great to use with API Leaf Zone which is plant food for your aquatic plants. The CO2 Booster helps the plants grow in conjunction with the API Leaf Zone to feed your plants. API Leaf Zone Aquarium Plant Food, 16-Ounce I always buy them on Amazon because of the lower prices. I have Amazon Prime, so the Free 2-day shipping on my orders are a huge plus. ... show more
