  • Like a miracle on my algae-water tank
Size: 4-Ounce
Ever since I used a vacation feeder in my 10-gallon tank (one of those white pyramids) my tank has gotten more and more cloudy with floating green algae. It was a filterless tank with lots of plants, and nothing I did would fix it. I tried installing a shade on a nearby window to limit excess light, I tried weekly 1/3 water changes, I tried getting some cherry shrimp to help eat the algae, I even tried buying a filter to help remove the excess nutrients in the water. Nothing helped. It was still so cloudy that I couldn't see more than an inch into it. Bought this stuff because another reviewer's "before" picture looked just like my tank, and all the "anti-algae" drops said not to use them with shrimp. Used on Saturday and within hours I saw a noticeable difference, but 24 hours later it hadn't really improved much more, so I put in a second treatment. Yet another on Monday. It's now Tuesday, the 4th day, and I put in a double dose this morning (for a total of 5 doses) because I felt like I had a pretty good handle on how much gunk it cleared out each day, and now that it's afternoon, my tank is almost completely clear. It's like a miracle. I've got six male guppies, an uncountable number of little snails, and probably around a dozen tiny red cherry shrimp (that are very good at hiding) and all are still alive and well. ... show more

  • Despite what they say; it even helps with tannins
Size: 4-Ounce
I was pleasantly surprised by this product. I use Eco Complete live substrate for my planted aquarium. It causes gray cloudy water when first adding it to a new tank, and after big water changes. The bag used to come with a water clarifier but it no longer does. I'm too inpatient to let it settle on its own, this product clears it up within hours. Also, it was to my understanding that this does not help with clearing tannins, aside from another reviewer that said that it does. I'm currently cycling a new aquarium and cannot add purigen just yet, and I do worry the darker hue of the water is dampening the brightness of my lights, which are just *barely* bright enough for my plants to begin with. I woke up the next morning to nearly crystal clear water. It's not 100% effective, and the effect is temporary, but it makes a noticeable difference and thats good enough for me. Perhaps its because it helps your filter work more efficently, but who knows. I can't deny the results, even my husband noticed. I definitely reccomend rinsing your filter media sponges after using this product, or maybe even before. Sans bio filtration of course. Specifically the fine filtration/water polishing sponge, mine gets dingy pretty quickly after using this. I'm cool with it because it's proof that it's working. I dose once a week and clean out the sponge after 24 hours. ... show more

  • It actually does work! Wow!!!
Size: 4-Ounce
The media could not be loaded. I recently upgraded my fish tank and did everything right as far as I know, but within three days my whole tank became cloudy and it stayed like that for about a week and a half. And it looked like it wasn't going away any time soon. I tried to change some of the water and cleaned the tank by taking out the fish poops and debris. Still, it didn't help. So, I looked for something on the Internet that I can use to clear up my tank. That's when I came across ACC-CLEAR. I was skeptical if this is going to clear my fish tank. However, I ordered it and I got it 2 days later. Anxiously, I poured some of this stuff in my tank thinking that my tank will be CRYSTAL CLEAR by the next day. Well, I woke up the next morning and looked at my fish tank. What did I see? CLOUDY WATER. I was disappointed especially when they say on the bottle that it will work in hours. I then followed their direction about repeating the treatment. Still, my tank wasn't getting clear at all. Then, out of frustration I sort of started all over. I took out nearly 90% of the water and filled it with clean water, Cleaned all the plants and ornaments, cleaned the filter machine and replaced its filter with my own version or homemade filter with carbon, limestone and filter media. After all that, I did the shock treatment and put my fishes back in. At this point, even though most of the cloudiness in my water was gone, there was still good 20% cloudiness and it started to increase as time went on. The next day I decided to use ACC-CLEAR to clear up my tank. VIOLA!!! The next day, I just couldn't believe my eyes. MY FISH TANK got very CLEAR and there was hardly any cloudiness... I am so HAPPY.... :) So, what is the moral of the story especially for those who are complaining that this product didn't help with their fish tank situation? lol... well, this product alone will not work to clear your water. You need to do your part as well by keeping your fishtank CLEAN like cleaning your filter, cleaning your fishtank of debris and fish poops and whatever other cleaning things you have to do for your fishtank. ONLY then, you should try this product. That's what I had to do and this product worked right away. GOOD LUCK... :) ... show more

  • Works, but may take several treatments
Size: 4-Ounce
I had tried several things to clear the water in my aquarium (changed the water, tried different filters, bio-balls, and water treatments), but within a week the water always turned cloudy. I decided to try API ACC-CLEAR after reading reviews on the product. I treated the water as directed and the next day, the water was still cloudy. The instructions states that a second treatment maybe needed, so I treated the water a second time. The water remained cloudy. I decided to treat the water a third time but add 2 ml instead of 1 ml as instructed for a 10 gallon aquarium. Within one hour the water became clear! I recommend this product to anyone who has problems with cloudy aquarium water. Just make sure to measure the solution with the cap using the small indented measurement guide for 1 ml of the solution. ... show more
