I used this induction burner for boiling maple sap to make syrup. The left hand side has higher watts so I used that side for boiling while I used the second burner on the right side as a “warmer” to get the sap up to temp before placing in the boiling pot. These induction pots work better for boiling sap because it doesn’t caramelize the sugar on the bottom of the pan like standard burners. I only tap 3 maples trees so this burner works great for a small maple syrup operation. I can grab the pots with my bare hands and they’re not hot. I plan on using the induction burner for cooking other foods after the syrup season is over. But for now it’s my maple syrup making machine and it works great for that. ... show more

One year update 28May2024 I have been cooking three or more meals a day on this cooker for over a year and I have nothing but great reports. Not only does it do a great job as a cooker but it cleans up so easily it still looks brand new - I really mean it - gorgeous, shinny black. Not a nick or scuff on the shiny surface after a year of daily use. I plan to buy another one in July for our summer house! As a cooker it works fine. Like any new technology it takes a bit of time to master the touch controls but by the third hamburger or pancake you know all you will need to know. We use it for every meal every day - trouble free, a pleasure to use. You should be aware that there are two minor cosmetic issues: the beautiful black ceramic finish shows fingerprints and the black plastic trim can be marred by the heat of the bottom of the pan - just be careful. Full disclosure: my original review was too harsh and I made a big deal about the fingerprints and the trim thing. Having used the cooker for eight weeks I can honestly say we really like it and we would be lost without it. ... show more

Oh my gosh - ok, so it's only been a month or so since unboxing, but I LOVE this thing! What I love the most...ok well a lot of it. I love that the cooktop has a slightly textured finish which actually makes it very easy to keep clean, unlike my glass-top stove that always seems to be hazy and dirty no matter what I use to clean it with. I love that the heat settings are very responsive and since I personally suck at cooking, this is a huge step forward for me. Have I burned stuff? or not got it cooking right? Yes, of course (we're talking about the chef who can't cook, right?) But seriously, I can turn down the heat and the heat is down, or up and it's up. It is a little difficult to figure out how to use since the instructions are not good. They don't seem to be Chinese / ESL, but some other foreign language / ESL and while understandable, not comprehensive. That said, I am still trying to understand when/why to use higher or lower wattage and how that affects the heat setting if at all. But the fact that it has lower wattage settings made the prepper in me want this unit for extended power failure times and I am trying to find stuff that will work with minimal power on the back-up generator. Oh! and I got to buy a few new pots/pans that work with induction. Not super thrilled with those I found, but they are functional for now. ... show more

Purchased this induction cooking stove top about a month and a half ago and it's working well. It uses considerably less energy than the burners on my convection range, so it will pay for itself within a few months. I haven't had any problems with it and I like the features and displays. The displays allow for monitoring of either temperature or wattage. As others have mentioned, you'll need to purchase pots which work with induction cooking stove tops if you don't already have them, but those aren't expensive. ... show more
