  • 10 meters to CB
Style: AT-5555N II with CTCSS/DCS
Nice radio with a lot of empty space inside. Could have made it a bit smaller but you have room to add things if that's what you want to do. Good TX and RX audio with supplied mic. I'm happy with it.

  • Great Radio !
Style: AT-5555N II with CTCSS/DCS
After using it for 6 months, I realize it is a top contender for talking Ham and CB. I have talked all over the world with no modifications to this radio. It is as advertised! A great radio.

  • This is a great radio at a terrific price!
Style: AT-5555N II with CTCSS/DCS
I’ve been a ham to 50 years. I’ve seen a lot of junk. Come across my desk, but this is not junk. It is a really really good radio. Buy them while they’re still available!

  • Excellent, CB radio for the price
Style: AT-5555N II with CTCSS/DCS
I have a couple of people in my local area that have this same radio, and they sang its praises so I got one and I’m extremely happy that I did because I have heard everyone complain about the other radios that they’ve had, but none of them have had any issue with the quad Five. It’s a pretty elegant looking machine and it’s menu driven so if not a whole slew of buttons and switches that can get accidentally knocked or hit. The display is clear and can be seen from almost any angle and it gives you a lot of information. The nicest thing at this radio has is an actual SWR gauge on the screen that is active all the time so you don’t have to go into the menu to check your SWR. The transmit and receive clarity are also very good on this radio. I have demoed a QT 40 radio and well that one sounds a bit nicer. The operation of it feels less streamlined unit not to mention this one puts out more power at around 40 to 50 W so if you pair it with a quality antenna and get your SWR set correctly, you should be able to talk overseas when weather conditions are right amplification necessary. The only reason I didn’t give it. Five stars is that I’m not thrilled about is the connector that they use for the Microphone, which it can be replaced with any cat 6 Cable fairly easily but it’s annoying that it doesn’t have a universal for pin connector to be able to swap with other radios but thankfully the microphone sounds pretty good and works well, but you have to get replacements from AliExpress for this radio the mic or to break that or you would need to know how to solder and work with electrical components. Overall, I would definitely consider getting this radio again and if it weren’t for the annoying proprietary microphone cable, I would say this is the perfect radio for the price so hopefully they’ll update it with a Four pin microphone jack. ... show more

  • Great radio super easy to use
Style: AT-5555N II with CTCSS/DCS
Had to get a replacement radio for my new truck as my Ranger would not fit. The Anytone 5555 is the same size format as a Cobra or Uniden CB - so if you are constrained by the width size as I was then you shouldn't have any problems with the Anytone 5555. It is super easy to convert to 11 meter. There are numerous vids on how to do it and the mod does not take any tech skill. I did the mod in less than 20 minutes. Hooked up radio - works just fine. The menu is a little difficult to figure out but there is really no reason to go into it other than to enable the Weather Alert notifications. I didn't have any issues with SWR - didn't really need calibration. I did a few test calls and was able to reach out 50+ miles with no problems. 10 meter will take a little more work with the noise gate and clarification. Overall I am very happy with this radio and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a 10 meter high power radio that can easily be modded into the 11 meter band. ... show more

  • Excellent Starter Amateur Radio for 10 Meters
Style: AT-5555N II with CTCSS/DCS
After deciding to get back into my ham radio life, I wanted to get a new modern radio to replace my antique 2510 tried and true radio. This radio fit the bill and it far surpasses the functionality of my 2510. The radio works well and I made several contacts to other continents like New Zealand and Austrailia as well as the UK. All running the minimal power setting, about 3 watts (QRP). The sunspot cycle helps. The radio will hit peak power SSB around the specification stated by the radio manufacturer at 60 watts (as per my actual use). This radio is a blast to use. No need to modify this radio if you're strictly going to use it as a 10 Meter Amateur Radio. 73 ... show more

  • Good radio
Style: AT-5555N II with CTCSS/DCS
Lots of functionality.. nice controls .. good TX power .. excellent sound .. programmable, but works fine right out of the box. This is the third Anytone radio I've purchased and I have been very happy with all of them. 878uv, 778uv and now the 5555NII.

  • High hopes but they were dashed
Style: AT-5555N II with CTCSS/DCS
I had high hopes that this would be the best radio for my purposes, but they were soon dashed when I could not find any functioning software to program it with. I downloaded the software from a website given to me by Lucky Product. It was in Chinese and had a run time error when I tried installing it. I even tried downloading the software from anytone.net, but when I did, I got warnings from my computer about malware on the site. Tina tried her best to help. Bless her heart, but so far none of her suggestions seem to work. The lesson I learned was to buy USA made products, if possible, but the choices are very limited. It is a shame because this radio seems to be a good radio, but with all of the problems I have had, I am left with a sour taste in my mouth about the Anytone company and Chinese products in general. If I receive satisfaction, I will amend my review. I hope I have the opportunity to do so. ... show more
