    • Good switches, good design, but fat
Hooking up the GFI's is pretty easy, as they have slots that the wires go into instead of having to put them under the screwhead and tighten them down (which I did for most of the outlets until I discovered the slots - duh). I've had no problems with them since I installed them. My one complaint is common to most GFIs and smart switches these days, which is that they are far thicker than they used to be, which makes them hard to install in most boxes. I got all but one in, but it was a nightmare every time trying to move the wires in the box to make enough space so that they'd fit. In one box, I just couldn't make it work. Amazon sells a slim GFI that will fit, but it's rare for some reason. Other than the thickness issue, these GFIs work great and they're a good price. ... show more

The price is right on this item. I am using it in my bathroom next to the sink with an Alexa & an asymmetrical night light plugged in. The old one just stopped working- no warning. This replacement was chosen because of the price and also has LED lights to verify if it is working well/correctly. I have only 2 wires and a separate ground wire that is screwed to the metal box around the plug. I had to watch a YT vid to get the right install. Connect to the LINE sides unless you are going to continue on with other plugs in succession. The hot wire goes to the side with the narrow slot. I eventually got it right but was snafu'd when it didn't appear to work when i tested it w my multimeter (you really need one of these to do this job- they are cheap and easy to use if you just look it up on YT..) Remember to RESET the button in the center of the plug- it comes "tripped.." Once I did this the green light came on and it worked! Additionally, most of the pics of this plug show it "upside-down" w the 3 prong plug inverted with the round hole on top. Now to a lot of plugs this doesn't matter- but my specialized night light is much taller on the top- so if the plug is inverted it won't fit unless upside-down because the larger blade is on the right! So I took it all out and flipped it. Of course now with these little issues I had to screw/unscrew the attaching screws that go into the box several times- so they started to strip. If you get it right the 1st time, no problem- otherwise you better save your screws from the previous plug you are replacing! Good luck.. and I hope my plug lasts for another 25 years- here's hoping!! ... show more
