  • perfect KVM for 2 laptops, specifically!!
Style: 10-in-1
2 usb c enabled laptops. 2 external monitors. 1 set of peripherals (keyboard, mouse, etc). FIGHT!! no but seriously that was the problem i was facing, this KVM was the answer. DEETS: i started 2 new wfh jobs and spent hours scouring goog + reddit for a way to connect both laptops to my personal monitor, and an external monitor being sent by one of the companies. laptop 1 was an older model dell with HDMI and usb 2/3 ports, but laptop 2 is a SurfacePro4 that only has 1 usb 2.0 slot and 1 usbc/thunderbolt port so my solution had to favor that one. there are (as i found out) so many different configurations for KVM switches, so to find one that supported usb c for 2 devices that existed and WASN'T $500+ was perfection. PROS: all hooked up it works exactly as described, with just a few seconds of latency (<5sec) when switching between computers. it's not instant but that's not a downside for me. all peripherals transfer without glitching. i like the sleep look, the streamline design, the change button is magnetic so i can stick it to my desk leg. simple, clean, functional. CONS: since i bought a used version, mine arrived missing 1 of the 2 usb c cables needed to make it work. customer service was easy to reach and sent out a second very quickly, it was the wrong one as well but got that fixed without issue. the only functional problem i did notice was that i had to turn off the rgb lighting on my connected headphones (using for mic and alternate audio when i want to lock in) to prevent issues, as i figured the setting was drawing too much power. once it was turned off, no more glitching. it's not a necessary function for work so it's a small adjustment, and the color comes back on when it's connected to my personal pc. OVERALL: i love it, it's a simple and sleek solution to my very particular not-even-really-a-problem! a little pricy but well worth it if you're buying new ... show more

  • Does NOT work as intended. Just switch monitor inputs and get a USB switcher.
Style: 12-in-1
I am a relatively technologically capable individual. I did my research on KVM's and decided this was the best shot at getting one that worked and didn't cost me over $600 USD. My setup: Dell work laptop Older ASUS personal laptop 2 HP monitors with only HDMI inputs My goal was to be able to switch between laptops and USB inputs for both monitors in the push of a button. When I hooked up my monitors using an HDMI to DisplayPort cable, that monitor did not work. Fair is fair, as they said not to use those cables once in the description. So, I had someone bring over 2 monitors that had both HDMI and DisplayPort inputs just to see if I needed to get new monitors. The KVM worked perfectly on the HDMI out just as it had before, but the monitor that was hooked up with the DisplayPort cable would not recognize the proper resolution of the second monitor. I tried resetting drivers, updating drivers, contacting the support staff, and switching cables on the displays. Nothing worked. The resolution would never actually be recognized, and so I was left with black bars on the sides of the screen. I went to Reddit, of all places, to find that this KVM, even though stating it can handle it, could not properly show anything over a 30Hz refresh rate. At that point, this KVM would be more expensive than your monitors or you would notice the difference from dropping your PC settings. If you are not constantly having to switch back and forth between computers and just are trying to change things without having to unplug and move cables, stop overthinking it. Your monitor most likely has more than one input, just change the source on the monitor. To make sure your USB devices switch, there are USB switchers for pretty cheap on here, I got one from UGreen for $40, and it even has the remote switch. If you have to constantly switch between monitors throughout the day, this is not for you. The best option is going to be something that is at least going to set you back $600 or more. The only redeeming thing about this is that the switch included is magnetized. Still kinda useless if you don't have something metal to attach it to, but I did. So, yea. That's worth a star, I guess. ... show more

  • Works great with Mac Desktop and PC Laptops
Style: 12-in-1
I was looking for a KVM switch that would be able to support two Dell 24 inch displays and share between a Mac Mini M4 desktop and a Windows 11 Acer laptop. This KVM switch is excellent and does exactly that. While the official documentation from Anker says that the KVM wont support multiple displays for Apple Devices, the Mac Mini M4 supports multiple displays and this KVM handles it well. Both the Mac Mini and the PC laptop are able to utilize the keyboard, mouse, and HD Camera plugged into the KVM switch as well. It isnt without its quirks. The switch time is okay, taking around 5-7 seconds to switch computers. When switching, often the second monitor will display a black screen and to resolve it I need to turn the monitor off and then on again for the KVM to display. It also takes a few switches for the KVM to remember the computer display preferences (which display is primary, which is extended). I find these to be minor inconveniences but could be deal breakers to some. Overall this is a great KVM switch option that is worth the price. ... show more

  • Anker Products Just Work
Style: 10-in-1
Works reliably for my set up. I use it to hook two laptops up to one monitor using USB-C. I have a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard that must be switched separately which is fine for my needs. It is possible to have the audio switch as well but I don't use it. In my case, I run Spotify from one laptop using good speakers so those are hooked directly to the laptop. The other laptop is a work laptop and doesn't need good audio so I just use the laptop audio on that one. The system works best if your keyboard and mouse have easily accessible buttons to switch between Bluetooth devices. I use a Logitech M720 mouse and keyboard which both have Bluetooth selector buttons right on top. ... show more
