This heat shield does the job as described. It was super easy to install but removing the protective plastic film wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be, just keep pulling and pulling the film and in a matter of minutes you’ll have it removed. This refractive barrier directs the heat toward where you are and doesn’t waste near as much butane. We saw an Immediate difference. Not only does it direct the heat to give us more warmth but I was able to actually turn the temp down which ultimately will extend the propane tank logivity. Live it and it looks good. The panels are 14” long (top to bottom) which I thought were specified as 18” but anyway it works good and the entire length (width) of the 3 panels are 37” long.Lastly, when you install make sure that ur control knobs are on the opposite side of where you mount the shield, otherwise the heat directed from the shield make the knobs very very hot. ... show more

The instructions don’t tell you that placement of the shield is crucial. If pointing towards the knobs or other plastic/rubber elements, they will burn/melt!

    • Doesn't fit if your heater has a rim on the edge, NON RETURNABLE

We were hoping it'd fit, but there is a raised rim on our heater and so it won't fit. If we get one on, when we try to put the next on it falls off. On top of that, Amazon has made it non returnable, I guess because it's related to fire.

Bought this after a friend of mine had it installed on his heater, it works great at redirecting the heat in a single direction and allows me to place my heater in corners or against walls without the concern of the heater causing any damage to them. One word of caution though which my friend learned the hard way, make sure that your heater knobs are opposite from the heat shield or they will melt since the heat is redirected toward the unit itself. ... show more
