Update: The manufacturer reached out and sent a replacement device that works. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and can say it’s a very good wireless CarPlay adapter and Android AI box. Reliability has been good with only one random restart, though that could’ve been the fault of my head unit. Pros: Boots up quickly. Snappy user interface with no lag or stuttering. Preloaded with popular streaming apps Google Play store works! Supports simultaneous client and hotspot WiFi modes. Cons: LTE seems a bit slow. I hope they bring US 5G support in future devices. When using wireless CarPlay mode, there is an audio delay that takes the car audio and on-phone video out of sync. All wireless CarPlay adapters suffer from this delay but some allow you to set a video delay to offset and re-sync the audio and video. The device doesn’t offer such functionality. On a positive note, there are no observable audio/video sync issues when using apps on my infotainment system in Android mode. The black level issue I complained about previously turned out to be an issue with my Stinger’s infotainment system, as the device produces deep blacks with good contrast on my EV6’s infotainment system. I’ve tried a few of these “CarPlay AI boxes” and this one is better than most. ——————— Original review: Good specs but device died within 20 minutes Pros: Android 13 LTE modem 8GB RAM & 128GB storage Unit seemed responsive while it was functional Cons: Device suddenly stopped working 20 minutes into using it and would not power back on. (LED no longer illuminated after it died) Black levels seemed washed out in Android mode. Outer “chrome” plastic edge looks cheap. There is a molding impression in the “chrome” edge where an HDMI port could be added but no HDMI port is present. When it was working, 4G LTE was very slow and inconsistent.
