The photo of two strands of thread: the left is 6 strands of DMC, the right is the Anchor. The Anchor is almost half the diameter and requires almost twice the thread to complete your project. The thread also frays and breaks easily mid stitch which is frustrating. The colors are lovely and the spools are convenient and the thread has a nice sheen, but these pros don’t outweigh the cons. If you like big clunky stitches then you might get frustrated with Anchor floss. Me, I think the beauty of embroidery is in the delicatecy of stitches and this durable, colorful, lustrous embroidery floss is perfect. Even when I order a embroidery kit, I replace the supplied floss with Anchor floss.
