I had to get this for a microbio class. It does the job. I will say that the knobs are finicky. If you move the knob responsible to move the stage up and down it does not stop, you can still keep turning if the stage is all the way down. The more expensive microscopes do stop, this one doesn’t. Before placing a slide on to view I took a peep in the lense and could see visible dust and fibers inside. I was unable to clear the view. I tried using a blower but I couldn’t remove the particles from view. ... show more

Built like a tank. This product feels like it will last a lifetime. Only problem is that there is no storage place for the switchable eye pieces. Eventually one will get lost or damaged. Otherwise a fine product.
