  • Awesome microscope for the Price.
Style: Microscope
I bought this for my Aquarium Hobby and for my daughter. Mainly for myself. The 2 of us have a lot of fun looking at stuff. This really opened up my daughters mind. She said "now I want to see what everything looks like under a microscope." The photo I posted are of parasites/bugs I found in my Fish poop. I also did a Skin scrape of my fish to check for External parasites and that did not have as many fun things as the poop. The stool sample was just a Squish mount and I was very happy with the quality of this scope. I had a Cheap kid microscope back when I was 10 years old in the 80s. I loved that thing, but this one is SO much better. I am happy I made the upgrade. So worth the money. I worked in Vet offices for years and went to vet tech school. So I have used a microscope before. This scope can see most of what you need. I would like a moving stage. You need a moving stage if you want to do a good Fecal or blood scan. This stage does not move. You have to move the side by hand and that is a pain. It is easy to miss things when you do it by hand. So for just general use I love it. It feels really well made I would have liked binocular lens but that was too much money for the amount of time I was going to use it for. If anyone keeps fish and knows what Parasites or "bugs" I have here please let me know. The microscope can only help you if you know what it is you are looking at. I have much research to do. ... show more

  • Works great
Style: Microscope
While not super sophisticated, this works great. I read other reviews and had some concerns thinking I might have to return this, but I'm quite satisfied with the functionality given the price point. I added the provided 3x AA batteries, flicked on the power (light worked great), found a spec of wood fiber and just put it on a slide (which I had bought separately for a few bucks), clipped the slide in, and it was immediately in focus (which was a happy accident). The zoom in/out controls worked well - tight enough to feel solid, but loose enough to turn without much effort. When switching to higher magnification, I had to turn the brightness up which was easy with the adjustment knob. I should have gotten a scope with controls for a sliding table/shelf because at these scales moving the slide is very sensitive. But I got what I needed with this. I would suggest this for a beginner (like me) who is in need of seeing tiny things :) If I have longevity issues with this, I'll update this review; but for now, it has done exactly what I needed. ... show more

  • Excellent choice for the price range.
Style: Microscope
This microscope is a great choice for beginners. For the price, it is effective, well built, and easy to use. My only qualm is that the 25X eyepiece is hard to get into the body tube, almost as if it’s slightly too large. In my attached photos, you can see blood cells, cheek cells, and the skin of a corn snake. (All of my slides were viewed without staining - if you choose to stain your results will be even better!) ... show more

  • Great Microscope for 10th grade biology.
Style: Microscope
After reading some of the reviews, I was leery of buying this microscope. However, after receiving it I'm glad I did... The box was in good shape. The contents were sealed in plastic and styrofoam. Batteries were sealed, not used. Everything was new, not reshipped. The scope has three objective lenses; red for low power, yellow for medium power, and blue for high power. The scope comes with two eyepieces: one WF 10X and one WF 25X (both widefield). That is what the WF stands for. The scope also comes with a power adapter, just in case you don't want to use batteries. And, it comes with a plastic dust cover. Someone complained about the scope not having an upper light. I used a small LED flashlight with good success. As someone pointed out. one picture shows the scope hooked to a computer. This is very misleading, but for the price, it can be overlooked. I happen to have a Celestron 93709 NexImage Solar System Imager, which I bought to use with my 10-inch telescope. It isn't much use unless you have a scope that tracks. My scope is manual. However, I found the imager of great use with a microscope. I have another MF10X eyepiece form a less expensive microscope, and it snuggly fits the imager. I am able to take pictures with my computer using the imager and scope. I bought the microscope for my grandson. It will be of great use in his Biology Class. One more thing: for those complaining about the scope not coming with slides and extras; the price will not allow it. You get those things with cheaper scopes. This is a great scope for the price as is. ... show more

  • AMAZING MICROSCOPE
Style: Microscope
The media could not be loaded. Perfect for all ages. Small but so powerful!!!!! The lens are powerful and the focus is amazing. Everything I have put on a slide I have seen in perfect clarity with this microscope. My only annoyance for lack of better words is that the 25x is not full view, its hard to explain but it works perfectly and I wouldn’t change a thing about this microscope. Maybe make it a binocular but it’s perfect and you won’t regret this purchase at all! The pictures I included are vaginal epithelial cells stained with blue methylene for visibility, very clear image!!! The video is live view I took with my phone. ... show more

  • Once you know how it works, it’s great! Only one flaw...
Style: Microscope
I love how high quality it is compared to the low price! It’s rather heavy, but that can be quite useful when I need it to stay in one place. The two eye pieces come in handy more times than I can list. I love the light adjuster for brightness. Saves me a trip to the eye doctor! Only flaw: This Microscope only has one light. The light that shines from below. Great for finding detail on thin and slightly translucent objects, but even at maximum light mist objects are shadowed in darkness. An old microscope I had as a kid had a light that shined down from the arm. (The piece that the eye piece and magnifying lenses are attached to) this made looking at solid objects VERY easy. I love this microscope, but I wish it had this angle light, would’ve made it perfect! ... show more
