I really like this fireplace tv stand. It has a nice design and the fireplace insert is very nice quality. It gives off good heat also. I haven’t cranked the temperature but it warms up the area it’s in. Now to the assembly: I was glad I laid out all the pieces and would suggest to KEEP THEM IN THEIR BAGS as you’re building. You have to keep going back to various bags and it was helpful to know which one it was. The instructions were VERY good and helpful. It was helpful to have a drill for some things but a lot of it is of camlocks with screws. They’re weren’t too bad. But you’ll see my one problem I encountered in my pictures. Most of the wood, I think, is a layered composite so the piece where the hinges screw into, had the screw right into the direction of the layer lines and it split. So I thought I’d try and put a screw in the back of it crosswise to strengthen it but no luck, it split the whole piece in half. So I took that piece off and glued and clamped it for a day. Then I pre-drilled and did 3 cross screw to strengthen it. The hinge screws were small but they split it right up. I felt like I strengthened my carpenter skills with that road bump. Besides that, the assembly went really well. Not counting my carpentry fixes, it might have taken me 3 hrs total. But I would recommend this one, for sure! I like the look of the fire and the logs. I’m very pleased with this purchase. It’s beautiful, quite sturdy, and puts out a good amount of heat. I read that it would arrive in two boxes so that wasn’t a surprise. The only difficulty was the boxes were so heavy, I had to empty them outside and bring the tv stand into the house piece by piece. At least it wasn’t snowing yet! ... show more

We bought this with a matching corner unit. We love them both. We leave the fire one for effect even when we aren't using the heat. We did use the heat this past week, though, during a cold spell, and it kept the room nice and toasty. It's HEAVY in the box when it's delivered to your door. Out of the box, it's cheaply made, of course, and easy to assemble. The fireplace is one unit, just a slide-in. It has pre-cut holes for cords, which is quite nice.
