We have several big dogs who love to spend the day outside; we purchased a lovely cream-colored sofa and love seat. Before those even arrived, we ordered these covers/protectors. We've had them about 2 weeks. They look pretty good (not as nice as the furniture without it, but... :) They fit well (slight gap in upper part of the sofa where there is a small area open/not protected). We have not had any spills yet (and hope to never have any) so I cannot speak to that, but it has protected from muddy paws and God knows what. We washed them yesterday and they came out clean and in good condition. Will probably order a second set, just so we have it to rotate when the other set needs to be washed. Better than I had expected. Very well made, good quality work and materials. Fit perfectly on couch, color is great, blends in perfectly, can’t even tell there is a cover on the couch. Little paws prints on underneath to prevent slippage. Very please so far!

I am pleasantly surprised that this slip cover works as well as it does on a leather couch. We've had this for a little over 2 weeks. Stays in place well and so far, has protected the couch from 7 large dogs. It is rather thin and doesn't provide very much cushioning for those pet feet that have stronger, longer nails, but all in all, I am pleased with this. Two thumbs up. ... show more

I hate that I have to cover my nice furniture but these have proved their worth!! This has saved my soft leather couch from the perils of pet urine (older pet), pet vomit, pet and human slobber, chocolate smudge, juice spill, water spill and crumbs galore (pets and teenagers!!) And no, food is not allowed - sigh. We had used a variety of blankets but they weren’t waterproof. Then I decided for a more unified look. I have a sectional so I bought 2 large couch/sofa sizes and arranged it in a suitable configuration. The neutral color goes well in any season and it’s not hard to put on once you get used to your configuration. One minor issue, the slip free back part starts to lose its efficacy over many washings and my slouchy husband seems to like to drag the cover down with his slouching. If not for the elastic top holders, he and probably the cover would end on the floor!! So all in all they are worth a purchase. Note: No strong odor when opened. 2024: Still going strong. They are looking their age now after some washing/wearing but are still waterproof and soft. I will buy more in the near future!! Worth every penny. ... show more

Overall the manufacturing and fabric quality great, with one exception. I purchase three of the covers to protect my furniture from a dog that was coming to visit. The design was more than ample to fit my large couch; lots of fabric to be able to tuck behind the cushions. The arm flaps again were ample with extra fabric to adjust the length to match the coach. The exception to the design was the band that was to be used to secure the cover to the couch. The both ends of the small bands were sewn to the fabric resulting in the inability secure cover as implied in the pictures. Also, no instructions were provided with the packaging. I returned the other two covers and will purchase the same covers that have adjustable bands for securing the covers. ... show more

    • Are leather couches for people who don’t like to sit down?

Love this new cover! I have to say I absolutely HATE leather couches (apologies to those out there who love their own). I owned one years ago and sold it for scrap after I realized that it’s like trying to relax on a slippery stone... blankets slide off, pillows slide off, and worst of all, bodies slide off in a constant battle to stay put and get comfortable. Alas, I find myself battling again, as my roomate has traded our comfy cozy down sofa for a $5000 sleek red leather piece which is now the primary seating in our living room. Here we go again... my roomate and I end up in half seated/half laying positions as we struggle to remain upright. Forget about taking a nap... the pillows just slide right off. Oops, there went the blanket. Even the dog refuses to sleep on it, giving up the struggle after about 10 minutes and opting for the hard floor. I thought... there MUST be something out there for all of those with leather couch buying remorse who just wanna watch a movie in peace or take an afternoon nap?! Enter the Ameritech slipcover! I just got it this afternoon and I am absolutely joyous to say that it fits perfectly and is staying in place just as it was intended to do. The gripped backing provides a strong friction that gives me renewed hoped that I might be able to wait out the “Red Leather Couch Phase” without going mad. The dog and I are relaxing together again, and I have even brought out the fuzzy blanket which is happily bundled around my feet and staying put. I can’t speak for its washability or durability as it’s brand spankin new, and I’ve read reviews for several covers that the gripped backing might flake off during washing or god forbid stick to the leather and transfer permanently to the couch. I cannot speak for this but have my fingers crossed that it won’t happen. I bought this particular brand because those type of reviews were few and far between. This may not be the cozy down love-nest of a couch I’m accustomed to, but this slipcover is doing EXACTLY what I intended it to do... keep us on the couch, a human and canine family again.
