Surely, the good "folks"/robots at Amazon care enough about their busine$$ to make sure their customers get what they actually ordered, right? Wrong. You will plan a spring break trip to the desert. You will order a lightweight 9-foot hammock stand with carrying case so that your son can set up his camping hammock in Zion. You will laugh when the first 15-foot, 100 pound wrong order arrives. How absurd! After all, you were warned. You will blame the ripped box on your dog. You will re-order, verifying that indeed, you did originally order the NINE foot model. Five days later, you will receive ANOTHER fifteen foot useless-piece-of-trash hammock stand. You will wonder about the chain of global bureaucratic/automated incompetence that allowed this to happen and will repent your complicit carbon contribution to climate change. You will picture the warehouse forklift operator who must have been too baked out of his gourd to notice the difference between the numbers "9" and "15". The UPS truck will get stuck in your snowy Montana driveway and the poor UPS guy will put out his back carrying another ripped box to your door, thinking, "Who in their right mind orders TWO flipping hammock stands in the middle of winter!!!" First off I think they have listened to previous reviews. All parts were there including the bag. Box not torn up, all hardware nicely packaged. It was the right size, and was super easy to put together. No tools required, it has a nut with a plastic handle on it so it’s literally 4 screws and it’s done! You do not need a truck to move this! I’m 6’4” and 250 lbs and it is sturdy as heck!!! Great value and prime eligible so I got it in 2 days and much cheaper than the others!!! When it arrived, the box was in tatters. It was ripped open on both ends. It's missing all the smaller pieces and it's nothing like the photos. The frame is much heavier and it has no carrying case. Without the smaller pieces, it's useless. I basically have 70 lbs of scrap metal on my floor with no way to ship it back because the box is destroyed. I think the smaller pieces must have fallen out and are probably floating around in some delivery truck. I don't know what I'm going to do. I can't send it back without a box and I can't use it. Even if I had a box, how much would it cost to ship back? I would need to use a pickup truck to even take it to get it to UPS. ... show more

I received the wrong item twice. I ordered the 9 foot version, but I received the 15 foot version. the first time there were also missing parts, so I didn't realize that it was just wrong.

I’ve had some AmazonBasics stuff before and have been mostly pleased, but this left room for improvement. I am hanging a double parachute hammock on it. Putting it together is straightforward, but it was a bit of a struggle getting the pieces to fit together, and caused a good amount of paint shaving off to get them on. Also, the wingnuts on the hooks took more force than expected it to turn. This definitely doesn’t seem like something I’d want to take down very often. I also find this to be slightly too short to get a good hang angle. On a comfortable angle my butt hits the base, and the only way to keep that from happening is to create a tight hang, causing it to fold over me when I’m lying in it. ... show more

This hammock stand is functional and sturdy. It works just fine with my Eno double hammock. And it comes at a good price. Setup is not complicated but I wouldn’t call it easy either. It seems like they cut a few corners with the manufacturing. One of the poles is too fat to force into place without a lot of effort. One of the screws is not quite the right diameter to fit all the way into its hole. But it’s still stable and sturdy once we got it together. I would call this thing semi-portable. All the parts do fit in a carry bag—but the bag is very long and heavy. That plus the annoyance of trying to force together parts that don’t completely fit right makes it seem less likely that I will actually want to disassemble this and take it camping. But it’s great for a patio or someplace else where you want to hang a hammock without trees. ... show more

Ordered (3) 9-ft frames with carry cases for 3 grandkids. 2 arrived correctly. The 3rd arrived as the 15-ft frame, super heavy, no carry case! The shipping box had clearly been sent/returned numerous times, as it had a great deal of old tape, and retapped over and over again, and the box was shabby, barely shipping-worthy. It now appears the correct item is now backordered. It seems the shipper tried to pawn off an incorrect model due to not having the correct item. Not good. ... show more

I’ve never purchased used items before and decided to do it with this product. Apparently it had been opened it was in a new box and it had a few defects. One of the defects is on the base. It has a chip on the base and it sits in the grass where you can’t see it. The other defect is they double hole punched the metal tubing where the lock button goes into the pole for assembly. These things are in the grass where you can’t see them. No one would ever know. It’s worth the discount! I’m super satisfied! This hammock stand is so sturdy and it’s huge! Worth the money!
