    • Built like a tank and keeps my card cool
First, this thing is hefty. A nice, solid hunk of metal, and the slab of acrylic is quite beefy as well. If you're installing it horizontally you'll definitely need some support under the card. It's also large, with the top-mounted ports adding an inch or so to an already tall card. It's a little shorter in the other axis than a typical air cooler though, but it still uses 2 slots. I'm using it vertically in a Thermaltake Core X9 mini-fridge, so it fits just fine, but users without adequate clearance above the card should take note of the added height. It arrived from ModMyMods in pristine condition, and the finish on the coldplate is perfect. I installed it on my Sapphire Pulse 7900 XT, using the included thermal pads, but I used some Noctua NT-H1 that I had lying around instead of the included paste. I'll probably have some squeeze-out over time due to the lower viscosity, but for now it's working great. The fit was perfect, since the Pulse uses the same PCB as the Nitro, just with fewer components in places. With a few modest tweaks in the AMD software, the card routinely hits speeds over 3.1 GHz, with the hotspot temp hovering around 70°C, which is far better than I expected from either the block or the card.
