There were three things I looked for in this base for my Xbox Series X: rechargeable batteries, a fan to keep the Xbox cool, and something to raise my Xbox Series X off of the floor. The base does, in fact, raise the Xbox off of the floor by about an inch. The rest of my hopes turned out to be disappointments. First, the device comes with two rechargeable batteries with contacts for recharging while the controllers are on the stand. There are four battery compartment covers with windows to allow the contacts to come in contact with the charging points. The design is kinda nifty as compared to the rechargeable batteries I've used before, which need to be physically swapped in order to charge them. I charged both batteries overnight when the base arrived. While charging, the openings for the controllers turn green; when there is no controller in a slot or if the controller's battery is charged, the light turns white. The first day of use the battery worked perfectly. It showed full charge according to the console. I put the controller back on the charger and went to use it again the next day. The battery, again, showed full charge; however, it would turn off suddenly and without warning. The first time it did that, the controller lasted about 10 more minutes before shutting down again. This happened again after 5 minutes. After the third attempt, the controller would last 10-20 seconds before shutting down. The console reported that the battery was fully charged and the base showed white (indicating that the battery was fully charged); however, the controller wouldn't last more than a few seconds before shutting down. The other battery showed the exact same behavior. The fan isn't bad -- it moves air at a rate suggested by the advertised speed of the fan -- however, it is quite loud. It's much louder than the Xbox itself. Moreover, putting Xbox into standby mode does not turn off the fan. In retrospect, this makes sense given the Xbox is likely supplying power to the USB port that powers the base. The lights on the device are similar in that when the Xbox is in standby mode, the lights will remain illuminated. This is unfortunate when you're done for the day and in bed only to find the lights and the fan still going strong in the other room. ... show more

Actually does what it says. Most fan stands are gimmicks and don't really place fans in useful ways to dissipate heat. Works by helping push air through the console. We'll made comes with battery packs.

The stand is solid when it comes to the cooling system. It keeps the X-Box from overheating nicely. The rechargeable batteries that come with the charging station unfortunately do not hold up to playing more than 30-60 minutes. The fans are very quiet, so it's not distracting when playing a game. The concept is good and the fact that it can hold two controllers is also a win, but the batteries need to hold a better charge or half of this stand is relatively useless. ... show more

So far, I'm very impressed with this product. It only requires a single USB input from your Xbox (no additional 120v plug required) to charge both controllers and power the fan/LED setup. I like that you can turn off the additional LED lighting by holding the power button for three seconds. A single press changes the colors. The LED and fan came on by default when I plugged it into the USB, but both can be turned off from the front panel. It also has two additional USB-A ports in the front, though I'm not sure if they supply enough power to charge anything, given that the whole dock is powered by a single USB-A connected to the console. The batteries seem comparable in battery life to others that I've had, and the kit includes two batteries and battery covers for both the Xbox One and Series S/X controllers (as you can see, I have one of each connected and charging. The charging dock configuration makes it super easy to keep your controllers charged, and the LEDs change colors to indicate charge status. I also like the headset stand, and to charge, I intend on connecting directly to the second port on the console itself. ... show more
