The neutral color of the bed is as pictured. The bed is very sturdy. I was quite surprised being that it had a lift for storage underneath. The bed can be put together in about 2 hours, its not difficult, just time consuming because all the bolts. Only issue i had was one of the stability bars on the headboard was in the box of hardware with the lift mechanism. So i thought it was missing until i got to that step. No big deal, just make sure you have all the parts, as my box was damaged when i got it, but everything in the box was fine. It is sturdy. It looks nice. This is a great bed! Very sturdy and the extra storage is great. It lifts easily. It took some time to put together, but the instructions were great and all pieces were there. Everything fit together perfectly. The directions and amount of pieces are a little overwhelming, but if you go step by step in order it isn’t difficult. To be honest, I didn’t expect much from this purchase, but the bed frame way exceeded my expectations! It was easy to assemble, it’s very sturdy, there is plenty of room under the bed. The lifting mechanism is strong enough not to worry when it’s lifted, but can be a little hard to open at the first couple times, especially if you have a lighter mattress. Great for its money! I was looking for a new mattress, and decided to downgrade from a king to a queen, which meant I also needed a new frame. I am limited on storage when it comes to storing extra blankets, winter clothing, those sorts of things. As I was searching for frames, I came across this one and thought to myself that would be amazing if I could hide the blankets and clothing under there. So I decided to go ahead and purchase it. It was super heavy when it arrived, but I just tipped it inside the doorway and pushed it in. I then disassembled the box and carried the pieces into the spare bedroom until I was able to set it up. Once I got my old bed out of my room I started to assemble this one. I made it easy on myself and I divided up the pieces the best that I could to make it easy to put together. I know how I am when it comes to putting things together, and I lose my patience pretty quick , so I made sure I went extremely slow and read the directions and just took my time. Overall, it was not difficult to assemble. Took me a few hours to do but like I said, I went extremely slow and was patient. The instructions say that you should have two people to do the hydraulic apportion however I propped the metal frame up with something and hooked up the hydraulics on each side and then released the frame down. It is a little tough pulling down, but that’s because it’s releasing the air. Once I got the mattress on, it was still easy to pull up And then back down. It’s got a little bit of weight to it, but that’s totally fine because I feel like it’s a little more durable. After I’ve had a few nights sleep I will update on stability, any noise, or anything else that may or may not come up. ... show more

My husband said this bed is the best value of anything we purchased during our major remodel. It is so sturdy and really pretty. The light beige has a lot of grey in it - I would call it griege. This is exactly what I wanted. I fit a ton of stuff under it including the leftover carpet from our remodel. With the 13" mattress and all the bedding it lifts fairly easily and stays up - the great thing is the bedding doesn't get messed up when lifting. Yes, assembly was time consuming but it was very straight forward I was able to do it myself (60 yo woman) until the hydraulic lifts. I wish the headboard was one board taller but we put a 13" mattress on it, I think it would look better with a shorter mattress (but not too short, you want to fill the gap below the headboard). The bedding and bench are also from Amazon - side tables are from that Swedish store with the blue and yellow logo. I love my room and cannot wait for guests to arrive. ... show more

I am obsessed with the easy access storage. It was easy to put together, & it's an easy lift to store things. We have a foam mattress that we highly disliked before this frame. We thought we had to send it back. I decided we'd try a new frame first. It must have been a lack of support in the middle, because this one doesn't make us roll into each other. Noise level is no problem. No noise, & it's right against the wall. My husband & I are about 500 lbs together & it feels like it will work for us for a long time.
