The media could not be loaded. The connectivity is the biggest issue that is unreliable. Several dropped calls randomly and the Echo Show is less than 10 feet from the main Amazon router. Additionally, I reset the network and internet settings 5 times now and it still has dropped calls. The Echo Show is small enough to fit nicely on desk or table and can still see the caller and they see enough through video phone calls just fine. You can add fun backgrounds and images during the call. Other person needs to have Alexa app downloaded onto their cell phone, or have another Amazon enabled device. The value was great because huge discount on Prime Day. The kids echo show features some additional Amazon Kids spp features such as changing to different kids friendly voices and other games and shows that are age level appropriate. The kids mode blocks outgoing calls except to parents in the same shared household. The features of the alarms and reminders is fantastic and I love adding the wallpaper and different customized routines and how it pairs easily with other Amazon devices in my place. I already had one Echo 5 and liked it. This is the next generation and not much different than the the one I have but it's nice. I've had the other one for couple of years and it's still going strong. The only problem is that Alexa will not understand what I perceive to be simple instructions. For instance, cancel such and such alarm. Alexa well sometimes tell me I don't have an alarm set for that time when in fact I do . Or, does not give me enough time to finish my sentence when giving a directive and I am speak loudly clearly and fast. Even when I slow down it doesn't seem to get it. Interestingly that's not all the time that's just sometimes. I don't use it a lot but I'm happy with it. I especially like that you can change the voice on the Alexa. ... show more

I recently got this for my son, and he absolutely loves it! The ability to watch shows, listen to music, and show much more at just the fingertips of an Alexa is incredible! She is always willing to help when he has a question. A good product to help out your kids when your not around.

10/21/23: Update: RUN! DO NOT BUY. This device is making me lose my mind. It has once again started changing what it displays whenever it wants, without provocation. Every night I have to go into Home Screen settings and turn things off that I had previously turned off, which then turn themselves back on again. The clock face changes by itself, and yes, sometimes changes back by itself. It displays old reminders (when reminders shouldn't display at all), and it displays hints and things to try when I have that option turned off. It's so maddening when I just wanted a freakin clock/alarm/speaker. It's the worst and I'm going to shop for something else. I'm done. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I posted a bad review when I first got the echo 5, and I'm changing it to 3 stars now because Amazon contacted me and discussed my problems, and they have pushed out fixes. Originally, my home screen alarm was displaying as 6PM, when it was actually set for 6AM (it was going off at the right time, just the display was wrong). Also, my device displayed the list of alarm tones available, but did not play them when selected, nor did it retain a selection until I made the change to the tone on my phone app instead of the device itself. That has been fixed, and I can now hear and update tone selection on the device. Net result is I'm able to use the device how I originally wanted, which was to replace my bedside clock radio as a radio/alarm clock, and it is working much better for me now. Credit where due.
