After 5 months of using the Amazon Echo Buds, I can say that, overall, they’re a great option if you’re looking for wireless earbuds with good value for money. In fact, if you find an offer (I took advantage of a 2-for-1 deal), it’s a great bargain! I’ve used them for everything: listening to music, making calls, and of course, taking full advantage of Alexa. Here are my thoughts on how they’ve been performing. Price: The first thing that caught my attention was the price. Compared to other, more expensive models, these are much more affordable and still offer many similar features. Not to mention that I mainly bought them for the Alexa assistant, but the sound is great for the price. Sound Quality: The sound quality is surprisingly good for the price. Don’t expect super powerful bass like premium models, but the sound is very well balanced. The highs are clear, the mids are fine, and the lows are decent for almost any kind of music. For listening to music or podcasts, they do the job very well. I’m not sure if it’s my PC, but when I move away a little, they disconnect, and I think it’s because of the PC. When using them with my phone, I can be much farther away without that happening. Compatibility: I’m new to Bluetooth devices, but I found it easy to connect them. The best part is that I can have them connected to two devices at the same time, and I really love that! Comfort: Honestly, I’ll share both my opinion and my partner’s since I took advantage of the 2-for-1 offer. She says the earbuds are very comfortable, and she hardly feels like she’s wearing them. Since she goes to the gym, she says she can exercise without worrying about them falling out. Now, my opinion: I find them a bit uncomfortable because the earbud has an option to make it tighter, so I changed the tips. I got these when they first came out and I've had them for about a month now. These are the first wireless earbuds I've ever purchased so I didn't know what to expect but so far I'm pleasantly surprised, especially considering how inexpensive they are. I think the sound is great. I'm not an audiophile by any stretch but I can definitely tell that these have much better sound quality than my wired earbuds. My only complaint from a sound standpoint is occasionally there will be interference or it will cut out. I assume this is just par for the course for something that's wireless / bluetooth, but it can be annoying and there have been a couple of times I needed to reconnect them to clear up an audio problem. It doesn't happen enough for it to be a deal breaker though, and it could just be my phone as it never happens with computer audio. As far as Alexa integration, these work great. I barely have to say "Alexa" above a whisper for the earbuds to activate, which is great when I'm in public and don't want to appear like I'm talking to myself. It also helps if I don't want to trigger one of my nearby Alexa devices, although even if I do, the proximity awareness of echo devices means that if I have my earbuds in, my other echo's won't pick up the command, which is great. From a comfort standpoint, I think my opinion is going to be subjective, after all, everyone's ears are different. I can keep these earbuds in for up to two hours before I need a break. I don't like to keep the earbuds in when I'm not using them so I keep the case in my pocket and take the earbuds out when I'm not using them. That keep my ears from getting tired. I think the battery life is great. Again, I usually only keep them in my ears for around 2 hours, but there have been a couple of times that I've keep them in for 4 to 5 hours and they've almost run completely out of power. In those cases, 15 to 20 minutes in the case and they are good as new. In addition to all this, I really like the features of these earbuds. They were very easy to setup with the Alexa app. They seamlessly connect to my phone and laptop at the same time and I can listen to audio from either device at any time without having to do any type of manual switching. I can be listening to audio on my laptop and if my phone rings, it will pause whatever is playing on my laptop to give me an opportunity to answer the phone. The tapping gestures are programable and straightforward, and I have the ability to summon both Alexa and Google's Assistant at any time either by voice or by a long-press. All in all, these are great. I'd say 4.5 stars instead of five, but since I can't do half stars, I feel like these are so good that it's better to round up than down. Overall I’d give these somewhere between 3.5 and 4 stars. The good: Battery life is fairly good. I’ve gotten 4.5-5 hours straight on them easily maybe even closer to 6. The recharge fairly quickly in the case. Case is nice. Has color indicator light telling you battery life of the buds. Was easy to connect to phone. Can see battery level on phone. Sound is really good. The bad: The fit is questionable. Sitting at my desk at work they are fine. I have smaller ears so once I got use to the size they are fine. But if I’m active moving (cleaning or working outside they tend to not be as tightly fit. They have even fallen out when I’ve bent over. Not sure how they would do if you did heavy exercising. Walking they are fine but I don’t know that I would trust them to stay in more than that. While the sound is good, they are not noise canceling. Which is usually not a big deal to me but I can have them turned all the way up while running a vacuum and they can still be on the quieter side. Overall for what I wanted them for (mostly work) they are fine. They are better than others I’ve had in the past if I don’t want to use AirPods. ... show more
