These are quality filters. When you receive them, they are vacuum sealed. They include instructions on how to inflate them to normal size. They also come as 1 large sheet. You have to cut them out to fit your filter. There is a little prep to get started, but they work really well. I have a tendency to change them out more frequently now that I always have some on hand. I cut out 6 to start with. I have washed them out, when full, and used each of them over again. I cut a piece to fit inside my Top Fin HOB along with the regular floss cartridge, and also added a tube sponge to the intake. It's a huge increase of bio-filtering for my fishes! And the sponges in the flow BEFORE the floss cartridge makes the cartridge last a LOT longer before clogging up. It also has the added benefit of NOT tossing out the entire good bacteria colony every time the floss cartridge needs to be changed. ... show more

I have a Tetra Whisper Internal Filter. The filter cartridge that it came with has carbon in it. My Betta Fish currently has popeye so the old filter cartridge was filtering out his medication. These work great! I just cut it to fit inside my filter. They are much cheaper too!!

4 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We got these to use with the water 💦 filter in our turtle 🐢 tank. The filter uses a few stages of filtration, one of which is the “bio sponge” layer, and these sponges work fine for this purpose. They are easy to cut to size, and seem to be effective at mechanical filtration of particulate matter in the tank.
