This cute little solar pump was just what I wanted. Something small and inexpensive to keep the water moving in a little birdbath dish out in the backyard where there is no access to electricity. It is as advertised, very basic, without even an on/off button. This is NOT the type of fountain that charges up a battery and then works consistently. If the sun is shining directly on the solar panel, it works. If it is very shady or at night, it does not pump. It comes on an off and varies in intensity according to the sun. The birds are happy, the water stays clean longer, and the sight and sound of splashing water is soothing. There are no real instructions, but once you figure out the "puzzle" on the box showing the various combinations of the spray heads with or without the extender/riser you will certainly find a combination that works for your own little fountain. I am using it without a spray head, just the short extender pipe since the water pan I have is rather small and it was spraying out of the pan with the spray heads when the wind blew. Pros: It works nicely. So far seems to have a good power for it's size. Has the perfect spray for a bird bath. Birds are loving it. I'm honestly not sure what people are complaining about parts not fitting??? they may have gotten a different model or were missing a piece??? Everything went together easily for me. It's got a nice size spray so you're going to want a pretty decent size bath or the overspray may drain your bird bath quickly. Cons: The solar panel needs SOLID direct sunlight. In the summer heat, I prefer to keep the bath in the shade to keep it from getting too hot. Gave it a 4 because I would preferred the cord to be longer so I can keep the bath under the tree and the panel in a part of the yard that's full sun. The cord is not bad, just not long enough. Note: Niether pro nor con...The panel does not have battery storage. When the sun is gone, the pump stops (I knew this before purchase). This does not bother me at all since the birds don't normally "bathe" in the dark. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Perfect size/power/function for our bird bath. Small enough to set at an angle under some rocks. Enough power to get a good stream that the birds LOVE, but not so much power that the stream falls outside the bird bath and empties the bowl. At first we used the sprayer nozzle pointed straight up and the humming birds loved it, but no other birds would use the bath so we changed it to a straight stream and now we get a LOT of birds, of all different sizes/types. The cord from the solar panel is just long enough that I can set the panel in a spot that gets full sun even when the bath is in partial/full shade. Unfortunately, it stopped working after 1 year (almost to the day) for no reason that we can figure out. Finally took it apart and couldn't find anything wrong. Maybe the solar panel stopped working. Even so, the cost of this one is low enough that I'm buying the same fountain again. We've tried a few others and none of them work as well in our bird bath. ... show more

I was so excited to get this for my new bird bath, but am severely disappointed. 1. Each different flow cap I put on leaks so it affects the flow of water coming through the spout openings. 2. It came with nothing to help place the solar panel. No stakes or anything, so you will need to figure out how you're going to get the solar panel to stay upright in a location. 3. This could just be my bird bath but my bird bath is shallow the pump doesn't go all the way under the water. 4. It does not suction to my bird bath. However mine is made of stone, but wanted to include for others that may have the same type. 5. There are no directions. Just a figure and I still don't know what several of the pieces are for. I had to come on here to get the pieces together It's not a high price to try it out, but it definitely didn't work for me. ... show more

Nice little pump and fountain for my small bird bath. It comes with assorted fittings. I guess what you use depends on how you want to utilize it. Everything I needed was there and easily assembled. The little pump was gently vibrating right out of the box, and just a weak ray of sun brought it to life. I don’t know how long it will last, but for $10, a summer’s work of pumping will keep me happy. ... show more
