  • Quite impressive!
I've been using the RayNeo AR glasses for a while now, and they have exceeded my expectations in every way. First off, they are extremely comfortable to wear, even during extended gaming sessions. As someone who loves to play on my Steam Deck but tends to move the controller around, these glasses have been a game-changer. The stationary screen through the glasses ensures a consistent and immersive gameplay experience without any neck strain from constantly looking down at the device. One of the biggest advantages for me is the ability to play in a reclined position, which is perfect for those times when I just want to relax and play something less competitive. The text clarity is fantastic, especially with the prescription lens inserts I got. While the difference wasn't groundbreaking, it did provide a bit more clarity, which is always appreciated given my less-than-perfect eyesight. The built-in headphones are a thoughtful addition, eliminating the need for extra peripherals. While I've heard that the sound quality isn't the best compared to other high-end headphones, they work just fine for my needs. I haven't had the chance to use them on a flight yet, but I can already tell they will add a significant level of comfort and privacy when compared to using the in-flight entertainment systems. I'll just need the Pocket TV to watch my favorite movies, but the experience on my Steam Deck has been nothing short of amazing. These glasses won't replace a large screen TV for the most immersive gaming or cinematic experiences, but they don't need to. They offer a large-screen viewing experience that fits in my pocket and can be taken anywhere. For that alone, I'm incredibly happy with my RayNeo AR glasses! ... show more

  • Read/saw reviews before buying. Glad I bought them for my Android phone
For Prime day, some AR glasses popped up on the amazon main page. Then I remember that for awhile I been wanting to get glasses so I can watch videos on the plane. So started looking at deals and found these. Immediately I started looking at reviews online and people seem to like them, and this is when they were 350+. I got them for 280. So I wasnt going to use them with a laptop or a gaming console. I just wanted to plug into my phone and watch Netflix and Crunchyroll on the plane. I have a Samsung Z Flip 6 and when I got the glasses, I plugged them into the phone and immediately they mirrored my phone screen. Looking throught the bottom of the glasses I could see where to tap the phone screen to open the apps. Then I opened crunchyroll and launch a video. All I gotta say is WOW! The microled screens are as good as the OLED computer monitor I have. True black looks great. Then I figured out how to turn up the brightness and I started squinting because it got so bright, so I decided to use level 4 which is less than 50% brightness. Also, they come set to 120hz, but since I wont be gaming, I set them to 60hz using the controls on the temple. Then came the sound. I do have to agree with other reviews that state that the sound is low. Well, the speakers fire to your ears but alot of the sound is lost because of this. BUT playing around, I used my hands to form a "cup" around my ear including the part where the speakers were and it was so loud I had to turn it down. Yes, once you create a "cup around your ears and the speaker, it gets VERY loud. I know I know, I wont be using it like this obviously, but this shows how loud the speakers get. Is unfortunate that they didnt make the glasses with a contraction that you can plug and be able to put the speakers directly into your ear (i have seen them, the oculus quest use these for better sound). Anyways, since I will be using them on the plane, I'll be using noise cancelling headphones, so no big deal. Regarding comfort, the glasses offer some adjustability. You can tilt the temples by carefully pushing the sides up or down. I recommend you watch some youtube reviews so you can do it properly. Also, you can open the nose pads if you carefully push on the pads. I recommend taking the nose pads out (you can slide them out of the glasses) adjust them and put them back on. It will take a few tries but you will be happy after getting them set correctly. Now comes the part with the phone app. Had to go to the Rayneo website and download it. I couldnt find it in the google store. Once i opened it and got it setup, I saw that it had crunchyroll preloaded! Immediately I try to launch it then I realized it just launches the built in web browser and takes you to the curnchy roll page. And let me tell you, the experience was bad. It was slow and laggy. After 30 seconds, I closed the app and never use it again. There are a few things to know when using a phone (samsung in my case). The glasses MIRROR your screen. If you turn off the screen, you also turn off the video feed to the glasses. So to watch videos, I recommend you do 2 things. Go to the settings > device care and set the power levels to "light" instead of normal. This will help with heat on the phone. Also turn off AUTO BRIGHTNESS on the screen settings because you will need to turn the phone screen brightness all the way down. Unfortunately on the z flip, if you close the lid, you loose the video feed. Even if you launch youtube, netflix or crunchyroll on the outside screen, the glasses wont mirror it, so to watch videos I have to keep the phone open. So far so good, but now comes the concern about battery life. Since your phone powers the glasses, your battery will go down pretty quick, so after some research, I bought an USB C adapter that lets you plug an external power source and the glasses at the same time so your phone gets charged while using the glasses. I bought the following one and it works perfectly, just search "B0CYCM63JD" on amazon and it will be LIVIN AR brand adapter. It actually works very well. Reviewers of older units and different brands state the USB C adapters gets hot, but this one did not after watching videos for an hour. Lastly, if you are going to travel, you will need a battery pack. After more research, I found the following 10k mah pack. Is compact and has extremely good reviews online for how fast it charges and how close its rated battery capacity is to its advertised capacity. Just search "B09176JCKZ" and it will be the INIU pack. I am very happy with my purchase since all I needed is a screen to watch movies on the plane. If you are planning on using it to do work on you laptop, I recommend other brands with more features. ... show more

  • It's Not VR, AR, or XR—Just Video in Glasses with Minimal Settings
This product isn't VR, AR, or XR. It’s simply a video display in glasses with very limited settings, if any. Claims of a 201-Inch Screen? Not quite. While the screen is clear, it doesn’t truly deliver the promised size. The bottom of the screen often gets cut off, and something about the display feels off—almost as if it's slightly out of focus. VR Capabilities? NO AR Capabilities? NO XR Capabilities? I’m not even sure what XR entails, but this product doesn’t seem to do anything related to it either. Why the Low Rating? The product doesn’t deliver on its claims. If it had been marketed honestly as just “a screen in glasses,” I’d happily give it five stars. Support and Compatibility Issues The product support via its website and app is poorly executed and unhelpful. Additionally, you'll need a phone with DisplayPort (DP) support, which I didn’t realize mine lacked. It worked with my PC, but only after purchasing a $28 connector. Keep in mind, this item will likely require you to buy a number of extras to get it working the way you want. ... show more
