I bought two of these meters and both work well. I tested all meter functions and they work accurately when compared to my other meters. The only problem is the test lead banana plugs do NOT make good contact on the meter ports, especially on current measurements. I tried expanding plugs to fit more snugly, and sprayed electro-clean on the ports of the two meters and the banana plugs, but this did not resolve the poor contact issue. I replaced the banana plugs and this resolved the problem. It is a nice meter and it is too bad the banana plugs or poorly constructed. Oddly, the meter specifications say the meter is not designed to measure voltages below 0.8 VDC and below 0.5 VAC. AC voltages below 0.5 VAC are ignored and DC voltages below 0.8 VDC cause the meter to go into resistance measuring mode, which I find confusing if I wonder if there is any DC voltage present between zero volts and 0.8 VDC. ... show more

in a previous episode, i had a working meter, following a lightning strike that destroyed stuff not plugged in, i bought this as it was inexpensive and looked quick to learn. and yes it is fast to learn. it is a bit tricky when you first use it to ensure you are getting what you want since it is self ranging. i used it to trouble shoot a RPS Solar 200 pump and it worked great. would i buy it again? if i get another lightning strike. it also measures the ambient temp which matters if you are doing solar battery charging, or power loss on panels as they heat up ... show more

This is a fully featured multimeter that is perfect for the garage or mobile technician. Accurate on every setting i tested which was dc, ac volts, resitance, continuity, NCV, capacitance, dc current, and temperature. Best feature and why I bought it was the magnet on the back to hold meter handsfree while working near anthing metal, like cars and trucks, tractors, hvac units, fridges etc. Very handy feature that more meters should have. The only con is the test leads are junk and dangerous as both meters I bought the positive lead was broke in half out of the box exposing bare wire. So just replace the test leads with a quality set and your good to go. Fyi...backlight looks great but turns off too quick. Overall recommended. ... show more

I like it. I bought it as a spare so that I can have one for travel, just for kicks and grins. It's mid-sized, which means it will fit into my glove compartment with ease. I compared some voltage readings with my more expensive multimeter and the results were approximately the same. And, it comes with two spare fuses. I thought they needed to be installed, until I opened up the multimeter to see that there were already fuses within. In case you're wondering if I tried to turn it on first, yes I did. It didn't come on. I surmised that I probably had one of my batteries installed incorrectly. So, let me highlight some other things. Changing the fuse isn't intuitive, but there is a video on this site with this listing that demonstrates how to change the fuses. It doesn't come with AAA batteries. Not an issue for me. I keep spare batteries. The test leads and wire seems to be cheap, but the measurement was fine. I bought more qualitative probes for another multimeter anyhow. For $9.99, I wasn't looking for the quality of a $30 multimeter. It's a spare multimeter that will do most of the stuff I will use it for like measuring voltages, resistance, and continuity checks.     • Incredible meters for the money
Have now bought 3 of these, the one for 8 bucks is amazing value and it does both AC/DC and a host of other measurements , the description says DC only but in fact it does both. The latest one was the 12 buck unit which does a bit more. Still great value and they are very accurate and much easier to use with the lit display and notification what it's dialed in for. The first two I bought I kept one and gave the other to one of my techs , that was 3 months ago and both units are trouble free. Highly reccomend ... show more

Multimeter is bulky and pricey. It was hard for me to get the reading I wanted, while sorting through a confusing (non-touchscreen ) screen with the menu buttons. Sadly I returned it.
