  • Great light.
This is my second one of these. I gave the last one with the camper I sold. Great little light and always has power.

  • Get some double sided tape with it
Works just as it says, but it was in pieces when I received it. The solar panel and the top cap were both hanging by inner wires. I carefully checked the wires, used small bits of double sided tape to reassemble. I've used it for a month now and there are no other problems. Works great - and I've charged it each way to test it. So the features work if you don't mind securing the parts together first. Really a cool find. ... show more

  • Love the Lamp, great light when needed
I like the lamp a lot. It has a nice weight to it and is very easy to use. We use it at night in the backyard and we can see, give or take, about 10 feet in all directions with clarity. Like many of the other reviewers had commented, it is very bright, too bright to look at. We're going to hang it up above our heads to avoid the glare. I'm going to order a few more just to keep around the house if we lose power. Inside, in a room, it's great and I had no problems reading with it. I like the different options to charging it. AC, batteries, solar and hand crank, you can also charge it through a cigarette lighter in a car. It does hold a charge for a good while, I read that using 3 AAA batteries it lasts about 3 hours. I really bought it for the hand crank so I don't need to keep replacing any batteries which are hard to come by if there's tornado or weather situation where all the stores are sold out. I charged it with the AC and I can see why the manual says it can be seen 10 miles away on high lighting and 5 miles away on low lighting. I use it for 30 minutes every night and love it. ... show more

  • Camp lantern
I was asked it I could answer a question by amazon. How many hours will it run and how long it takes to charge on solar alone?? My answer is I don't know in that exact senerio: BUT I just returned from a 7 night camping trip using ONLY that lantern to set up camp, campfire, cook etc. outside of my camper. I have YET to install a battery !!! Only got 3-4 hrs. of sunlight a day in the tall forest, did find by 5th day it was running low, so set it at angle on log to get max. sunlight during that time. Worked finished out my 7 day trip. Will note I never ran it on high, didn't need to was bright enough on low. NO BATTERY HAS YET BEEN INSTALLED !!! Love it !!!! ... show more

  • Well designed, very bright, very versatile.
Extremely bright for an LED lantern that can be charged by sun or hand crank. Exceptional versatility when it comes to charging (it also can be charged by AA batteries or wall socket/car cigarette lighter via USB cord). Design is impressive (ergonomic handle that has a swing out hook that allows for easy hand carry while walking or hanging to use a light over a table, etc.). Hand crank can be used to charge other devices, making it a valuable addition to any emergency kit. It is larger than any LED lantern I have owned (not bulky, but not backcountry-backpack stowable) and its extreme brightness makes it less suitable for close up use (like sitting it on a table where you are reading....you need to hang it to diffuse the light to a comfortable level). It arrived without one part (the AC adapter), but Amazon quickly arranged a replacement for me. As long as this device holds up over time, I will let my 5 star rating stand (the only thing that would change my rating would be if it quickly become unreliable or less powerful). Instructions are clear and understandable, though clearly not crafted by a native-English speaker). ... show more

  • Good area lighting but missing AC adaptor
I intend to use this lantern as an emergency area light source during power outages. It seems to be bright enough to work well for that. On the high lighting level (120 lumens) it will be good for lighting a whole room, and on the lower light level (60 lumens), it should be bright enough for area/spot/tent lighting. I just received the lantern and works fine on both low and high lighting levels, and seems to be charging in the solar, hand crank, and car battery modes, but there’s no way to tell if it is working using the three AAA batteries that I installed. However, I did not receive an AC adapter in the box. The user manual shows a picture of one, says there should be one in the package, and it says I need to “charge the lantern for 9 hours by household power before first time of usage.” Tough to do that without the AC adapter. I've contacted customer service at the manufacturer, requesting they send me one. We'll see how they respond. Also, the handle isn't designed well, ergonomically. The part of the handle that you hold with your fingers tilts slightly inward toward the center of rotation and doesn't turn "flat", i.e., in the same plane as the one in which the handle is turning. This makes you turn the handle using mostly wrist action, rather than using your forearm. Turning it with your wrist is not easily sustained for longer charging (5-10 minutes). Overall, this seems like a reasonable quality, economically priced lantern that would be good for occasional, light duty use. As a camping lantern, it's lightweight, versatile with the dual light levels and multiple charging/power options, seems bright enough, but it may not be sturdy enough for extended use on a campsite. Also, not sure how long the 2000 mAh Li-ion battery will actually provide light without recharging/cranking. Seems like they cheaped out/cut a corner there to save money. Update 18 Feb 2019 - nothing heard back from the company on the missing AC adapter. Sent them an email on 10 Feb, so it's been a week. Without that AC adapter, the description of the lantern as a "5 mode" is incorrect - it only has 4 modes of charging. Update 13 July 2019 - I never heard anything back from the company. Changing my score to two stars for poor customer service. ... show more

  • 2 years and still great
Two years of camping about once a month. Set outside the tent during the day and plenty of light in the evening. Never used the backup batteries, the solar charge lasted longer than I stayed up.

  • Great features failed in lumens
Bought this for an upcoming camping trip. The features blew me away. Solar power, USB charge AND hand crank?! Sold..then we went camping. 🤣 the lumen power on full blast was an absolute joke. And it didn't hold charge for more than 2 hrs. I will never use this again and the return window closed a week ago. Wonderffuulllll....amazon life lessons. ... show more
