I have been searching for an MP3 player to replace my old, original, Timmkoo player (no model # on it). It was a superb piece of audio equipment. EXTREMELY intuitive and simple to use. Sound quality was marvelous, plenty of bass. Sadly, the superseding models from Timmkoo (Q3 and Q5) have turned a great product into garbage. The HiBy music system used by Timmkoo, very prevalent now, is NOT intuitive and definitely NOT user friendly. I tried a couple of different MP3 players and both were lacking in music reproduction and volume and were not intuitively user friendly. So, I ordered this AGPTEK player. And boy, what a great little MP3 player this is!! Very simple to setup and easy to use. Outstanding sound reproduction with plenty of bass, without excessive treble, and plenty of volume on the MAX setting. The factory 'equalizer' setting is very well adjusted, but you can modify the equalizer, buried deep in this device, if you can find it.     • No native audiobook support, but workaround is possible.
Bought this unit exclusively for audiobooks and was dismayed that it comes with no audiobook support whatsoever. Audiobooks are recognized as "songs," and I was worried there was no apparent way to resume a book at the point where you previously left off. But I found a work around that works fine for me, as long as all the parts of the audiobook have correct mp3 tags. All the chapter files have to be tagged as belonging to the same "album." Then you select to listen to "music" and then "album." The player will go through the chapters (assuming they are numbered correctly in the mp3 tags). If you stop listening at any point and turn the player off, it will resume at the point where you turned it off. You also get the menu option to "resume." I'm assuming though that if you listen to a different book, you will lose the ability to "resume" the book you had listened to before, which is not ideal. Originally I was trying to use "folder" mode because I had the chapters of each audiobook organized into a separate folder, but it does not work. Only the regular "music" mode works. ... show more

This looks fantastic and it's very easy to use. This is a future gift for my child when he turns 10 or 11 or so. Over the years I'll be adding music to it till he's old enough to use it.

    • doesn't connect to bluetooth automatically
This MP3 player does not connect to bluetooth automatically. With other players I just turn them on and turn the headphones on and it's ready to go. On this one you have to scroll through menus to connect every time you turn it on.

    • Error messages - wrong file format
This is a very basic mp3 player, which is exactly what I need for a relative with cognitive issues who cannot manage a touch screen. The description says it will play mp3 and wma file formats. So, I added about 100 songs with those formats. But when I try to play the songs, I get error messages for many songs saying unsupported file format. Sometimes the same song will show the error and sometimes it won't - it changes randomly. I even tried to update the firmware, which was hard to find on their website. Once I found the file and downloaded it, I had to find an app that would unzip .rar files. It didn't really tell you where to save the file, so I took a wild guess. Once unzipped, there was a confusing instruction file which was partly in Chinese. Even after I think it may have updated the firmware, I still got the unsupported file errors. I tried searching the website for help, but the website took forever to load each page, and I couldn't find any help for the unsupported file error that happens when you are trying to play a file that they say is supported. I will have to return this player and start from square one trying to find another player. Very disappointing after I spent several hours loading songs on the player. ... show more
